According to Elliotte Friedman, of CBC, the Rangers are believed to be looking at undrafted defenseman Colin Suellentrop who plays for the Oshawa Generals.
Suellentrop, 20, was drafted by the Flyers in the 4th round in 2011 but wasn’t signed and then went undrafted this past June.
Friedman says that Suellentrop has worked really hard at improving his skating and that could be a “classic late-bloomer.”
He notes that Sullentrop went to Montreal’s rookie camp and that he is from Florida which could make the Panthers a possible choice.
He is 6-1, 190 and described himself as being a “defensive defenseman…a shutdown guy.” The Flyers, as of last year, were happy with the development track he was on.
The Courier Post says that some scouts thought he was developing into a strong defensive player.
He was a teammate of former Rangers prospect Christian Thomas so the Rangers have likely been watching him for a while.

Defensive depth never hurts. Sign him and put him in the AHL for now, I like this kid from what i've read.
