But they do need to protect their investment unless they think it is time to cut bait

You have to treat people with some respect but yeah there is time to make rough decisions like they may have to do with Bush.

Obviously Garver value lessens considerably as a DH

Eventually, him and Smith will be able to play everywhere except 1B and catcher. I would like to see both of them starting in the OF on Opening Day next year.

Yes, Ogando did so well as a starter they they sent him back to the pen. He was a reliever. We converted him into a starter for a little while and then back to the pen.

They jerked Feldman around a lot.

Effectiveness is all relative to the other option. The other option here is a bullpen game. Most of the time even Hearn is more effective than a bullpen game.

Most of the guys were never given enough opportunity to prove effectiveness either way.
