Hopefully there is some type of resolution that isn't all or nothing. I have heard suggestions of some type of settlement, but I don't know if there is a provision in the CBA that allows for something other than a buyout or contract termination. Could an arbitrator say to pay him $2 million and he is a free agent?

Heard on a podcast that this is a brand-new scenario for the CBA. Everyone seems to think a settlement is most likely but there hasn't been a case like this previously I guess.

I would think it'd be a little sticky for the league though. If they settle for $2 mil and he's a free agent, I don't think they can remove the full cap hit for the Flyers. Or even any of it? Otherwise doesn't that create a loophole around buying people out?

Thoughts?

I say TK over 75 pts. I think he'll play with Michkov a good bit and the PP can't be as bad as it was last year.

Tippet under 60pts. His run of higher point production came when he played with TK, but as mentioned I think TK and Michkov spend more time together.

Michkov under 59pts. You just know there's going to be like a month when Torts gives him 3rd or 4th line minutes (or scratches him) to send a young guy a message.

Farbee under 56 pts. Agreed.

Sanheim under 47 pts. Agreed.

Foerster over 40 pts. Agreed.

NO !

I'd love it. Bring back a top 5 player in franchise history in hopes you can give him a couple runs at a cup? Sign me up.

But I don't think he's a center anymore and the Flyers are loaded with wings. So I don't think there's a real roster fit at the moment. There are better ways to spend the money.

My question in the settlement scenario would be, does that 2 million count against our cap?

Also the Pens are dead/dying. So that's fun too.
