Something to add in the mix is that Buium is represented by the same group as Cutter Gauthier.

I feel a little better about this learning that tbh. Johansen being represented by them too and it really starts to raise flags. Not sure how they seem to have gotten sideways with that agent group and that’s obviously not good, but thats water under the bridge and if there’s risk of not getting Buium signed then passing on him is the right play.

And that’s the bigger issue I have with the Luchanko pick. I’m fine with him as the pick, it was supposedly all mushy after 12 anyway. And if the guy that did fall to 12 is someone you don’t think you can sign? Well, throw the dart on a guy with speed/smarts and crushed the combine and push #32 to next year. I can live with that.

A lot of people liked Briere’s 2023 draft, so we’ll see what happens with 2025. Needs to crush it though. All the eggs are in that basket now.

2023 draft would've been an excellent draft had he not drafted goalies in round 3 and round 4.

Standard entry level contract. 3 years at $950,000/year. The kicker is a potential $3.3 mill in performance bonuses/ year.

I think those bonuses go against next years cap. He should make the first $850,00, but the other bonuses are pretty hard.
