Kiffin was a long time coming.

If events do lead to Sark being fired, or taking the USC job I think there will be a lot of speculation this game was the turning point.

Not a knock against ASU, we just expected to at least be competitive against a team that before the game we had assumed was roughly around our talent level.

I see this comment. With a solid line you probably would of been very competitive. Your line just wasn't that good. Our D line showed up and it proves that we have played some of the best o lines and our d line can dominate any o line. I wasnt trying to rub it in I just wish you guys gave us a little more credit. I think our defense will be great the rest of the season playing mediocre o lines. Sark is trying to fix the line with recruiting you can tell with all the linemen you have considering. Natrell Curtis and Matt James were huge pick ups, Curtis is fucking good and could start as a true freshmen. There were times where Price held the ball to long, and he over threw 2 guys who were open it would of been a different ball game because of the momentum. You just need to dominate the line of scrimmage like Coach James did back in the day which is what a writer from Seattle said during an interview on Sports 620  forgot his name. Sark is finally investing in the line after the pounding Price took last year. You guys will match up well vs other teams, I think you played a pretty good pass rush in ASU and Keith Price was rattled. The O line commits are coming in and you should be dominating the line of scrimmage like the Coach James days. Casey Tucker would be a big commit for you guys but ASU fans also want him. :suds:

Actually, you dont see an SEC parking lot at Oregon practices. The only nice cars there are the coaches.

I think the nicest player car is Tyler Johnstone's VW Beatle or a Toyota Tacoma that are owned by players.

LOL @ PAC coaches trying to convince Mariota to leave Oregon early

1st it was Sark... Now Mora

Mora - "I had a couple guys ask me, NFL guys, if I thought he could play at the next level," Mora said. "I said, 'Have you not watched him? I mean, he'll rip it up at the next level.' I mean this guy is ripping it up at this level. He's really special."

Sark -"I don't know when he is planning on going to the NFL," the coach said, moments after Mariota put up 454 yards of total offense against one of the nation's stingiest defenses intent on stopping the quarterback, "but when he does, I think he'll be a top-five draft pick."

Who is next? Shaw? Riley? RichRod?

I dont know why people get all up about the players cars. Its not like every single football player in on welfare. I knew lots of kids whose parents and grandparents bought them new cars for hs graduation.

Got another guy in this class that is 90% verbal to Oregon.... Straight outta UW's backyard.

Budda Baker.

We also have 2 Jalen's committed out of our 10 verbals so far. My sons name.

Street agents must be out in force. So soon?

Ya, has nothing to do with the 4 straight BCS games, $100 million facilities, a number 2 ranking, a record 5 straight years with gameday, 18 total gameday appearances, the unis....

Yep, we need street agents.

Brag? No. But we do technically have the all-time lead whether you like it or not.

OK, lets make it official: You have the all-time lead. And that's what counts after all. If you guys hadn't run Dick Tomey off, you would have a couple of Rose Bowls to go with it.

That is the truth, it has been all downhill since then. I will give Rich Rod credit though, I have seen seat checkers in my classes for the first time since Tomey. and the APR for U of A is improving for the first time in ages. Though CAL's APR would make it hard for any other school to be worse.

I can live with that statement Yeo. In my humble opinion, the Bruins are not in the top tier of the PAC-12 just yet. Do we belong in the top 25 ? Yes, and it feels good to be there after CRN had struggled in his four years at the helm. So I do wish you luck this year and hope you can close out the season with an invite to the NCG.

Yo Yo fellow Bruin, its good to be back in the saddle again. Thanks for the invitation on the Columbia BS site. Would be nice if Mike4UCLA would show his mug up here too.

Thank you kindly T12. As VitaMike will attest I call them as I see them. You won't find me drinkin da Kool Aid like those Dohmers in South Bend and drooling all over these boards.

Yo, wuts up with the Haden ? Yea, I realize that Kiffin wasn't his choice and was already on the scene when Pat started his tenure as A.D. I questioned the hire in the first place by then AD Mike Garrett and imo USC should have shown him the door when Barkley threw his last pass for the Trojans. But how about showing some class by Haden and not pulling the man off of the bus and giving him the boot at 3:00 a.m. after a tough loss ? At least our A.D. (Dan Guerrero ) has the courtesy to wait until after the regular season is over before he buries the hatchet. Oh well, whats done is done and good luck with Eddie " O "

Personally, I think it was about recruits more than anything else. I was in favor of letting him stay through the season and see if he can clean up his mess. However, we lost at least 1 top recruit after the Washington St. game and were looking at losing at least 1 or 2 more after the "Debacle in the Desert" vs. ASU.

Kiffin's greatest strength is as a recruiter and if he's losing recruits, there's really no point in keeping him, particularly when so many fans and alumni wanted him gone. 2 or 3 recruits would be no big deal under normal circumstances, heck USC is used to recruits de-committing or going elsewhere simply becsause with the level of talent we typically have, they know they won't see the field for at least a season or two. But when you are dealing with having 10 fewer scholarships than normal, every lost recruit can have a significant impact.

As for the timing, no question that it could have been better, but as they say: "Something that must be inevitably, should be done immediately".

Regardless of whether one blames Kiffin or blames the media (I blame both), the bottom line is that there was too much negativity surrounding the program and the vast majority of it was "Kiffin-based". The impact of the negativity on the players was obvious in pretty much every game we played prior to the last 2.

It was inevitable to me after Kiffen took his team home from the Sun Bowl last year. That week, he didn't just lose the bowl game, he lost his team.

I do give him mad props for showing up on College GameDay the very next week!

He did a good job.

Heck you could argue it was inevitable the day he was hired. I'm sure losing control of the team this year had a lot to do with the timing however a lot of people thought he was hired simply as the 'Sanctions Head Coach' anyway.

Sort of an extended stay Interim Head Coach. In that regard, due in part to his recruiting abilities, he was a good fit for USC for the main portion of the sanctions period.

Now the USC brass and boosters can get down to business and let Pat Hadden get his guy in there, whoever that is. It works well for them because it sends a signal to recruits that USC is committed to turning things around and allows the most favorable prospects for the HC spot to consider their own circumstances for a greater amount of time.

I can't argue that move at all.

That said, I would have much preferred to see Kiffen survive the year maybe two!!
