I don't have a problem with it. From what I've gathered we sought them out in an attempt to strengthen our Texas pipeline. Plus we get a fat paycheck and minimize our home games in a year we might be renovating the stadium.

It's fun to talk smack about the SEC, but taking those neutral site games in other parts of the country is actually very smart. In virtually every recruiting class, USC has at least 1-3 kids that are pulled from Florida, Texas, etc.

You play those games and it opens up new places to recruit from. That's why Pete Carroll would always say that we'd play anyone, anywhere, anytime. His only requirement was it had to be a home and home or neutral site.

Thanks. I think the D was getting a little tired at the end and that resulted in some mental errors, particularly in the secondary, where we are inexperienced. I have a feeling that our games the rest of the way will be similar to last night. Build a lead and hope to hang on at the end.

The running game saved us last night for sure. I think Helton used every running back on the roster last night, but he stuck with Silas Redd for the final drive that sealed the game.

It was nice to see the players having fun and the crowd excited and cheering.

USC had a different attitude and it was obvious. Glad we played you in the Kiffin days. Heard anything new about Marquis Lee?

There is nothing to defend, only people who don't understand the money side of things and that neutral site games are win-win for both teams because they both get paid well every year. Where as home and home games only give each team a payday 1 out of 2 years.

There is a reason teams take them when they can get them. ASU isn't stupid.

What's the issue?

Maybe the entire south east doesn't understand " the money side" anyone you spends top dollars to see their team play ( 1 quarter ) a crap FCS team, needs some monetary education :laugh3:

Yeah, I really liked the energy they had. In fairness to Kiffin, part of the lack of energy that the team displayed under him was compliance driven. From what I've been hearing since his firing, he was so paranoid about it that he was overcontrolling everything.

It was almost like a prison. I was shocked when I went to the game vs. Utah St. and learned that the McKay Center can be entered by appointment only. You couldn't even get into the front lobby.

Obviously, that wasn't the only issue with him, but it explains some of it.

Nothing new on Marqise Lee. I believe he's pretty much day to day. Hoping he and Breslin will be back for Notre Dame on the 19th.

We had a home and home with LSU scheduled for 2015-16 but it got pushed back due to their series with Wisconsin and our stadium renovation plans. Despite the result of the game, the ND game was a success and we're trying to open up a recruiting pipeline in Texas.

Why? :noidea:

Told ya!!

Seriously though, just having a little fun!! I used to love when USC did the neutral site games. It's part of the reason that we are able to recruit well in pretty much any region of the country. I'm hoping we start doing that again when the sanctions are over.

No more " neutral games " PAC 12 rules:doh:

That's from our new guy Larry Scott, He said only will happen if the PAC can control the media rights

Not sure if I like that or not. Good for the PAC revenue wise, but it'll make those games much harder to get.

You joking? HS football is religion in Texas.

Sure it is, just like parents wanting to kill the ump or coach's in soccer all over the country. Parents make it what it is. Most schools outside of the major cities, Houston, Dallas and Austin are shit hole towns with maybe 200 students total, yet one (1) athlete stands out and everyone here thinks that he should be a top 5 recruit, Where is that top flight recruit from the city of Whitehouse Tx Moyer, ( WR ) or something like that that OU picked up. He was like the # 2 WR in his class .........

I usually don't defend the state of Texas for anything but to say their HS football is not elite is idiotic.
You can look up countless articles proving my point. Im done with this argument.
