ASU would of gone all the way in 2007 if Ryan Torrain never got hurt.

That was a very good team, but not a great team. We won all the games we were supposed to and lost all the ones we weren't supposed to. The Fiesta Bowl snubbed us, but considering the shitty job Erickson did preparing the team for Texas it's probably good we didn't get embarrassed in a BCS game.

Well you should watch some UW games this season. You got a good freshman coming in. McDonalds All American Nigel Williams-Goss.

I watch the UW games when I don't have anything else going on. I wouldn't say I would change plans to watch one and I barely pay any attention to the standings.

Honestly Romar is a great guy and someone you can admire and look up to as a human being, but I'm not sure he has the ability to put a team together that could ever reach the final 4. His teams lack discipline and most years are way too prone to getting in selfish streaks where they ball hog and get lazy on defense. They get a lot of quality guards, but seldom have dominating big guys.

If we had a program that could make deeper runs I'd probably pay more attention. I'm never off the football wagon, but I'm a bit more of a fair weather basketball fan. Just not that into it. Would almost rather watch soccer than basketball. :laugh3:

Understandable. Im kinda that way with Arizona football. I do like what Rich Rod is doing with the program but Arizona always has been and always will be a basketball school.

You probably have a better chance of reaching the CCG in football than UW does of reaching the elite 8 in basketball.

I do admit I follow it more since Romar came on board than I did before him when the program was kind of in the dumps for a few years. I don't hate him by any means, just don't think he has enough fire in him to get his kids to play hard for entire games. He is just too nice.

And yet UW hasn't been far off the mark for recruiting despite not having that national spotlight on us. Now that they are getting the national exposure how many more 4 and 5 star kids might just tip their way and how much more relevant will it make them in the coming years. That's why it is a big deal. Building a winning program is a cascading process of winning, getting attention, getting better recruits, which leads to more winning. Oregon is several years ahead on that cycle no doubt, but UW is no longer miles behind.

The age old adage that it is harder to stay on top than to reach the top is so true in college football. That object getting closer to you in your rear view mirror is larger than it appears. :suds:

And as much as I enjoy beating Washington and owning the rivalry of late.

I even more look forward to when Washington joins Oregon as a top 10 team on an annual basis.

It is coming it appears. And it will be awesome.

2000 was one of my favorite years in CFB, and imagining that in an every year scenario... Would be unbelievable.

Now if we could get WSU and OSU on board every once in a while.... Epic.

But for now, I would take the Oregon Washington being the dominant PAC teams. That would enhace this rivalry like never before.

I mean, if you think about it, until 94, UW dominated Oregon, since then its been Oregon dominating Washington. Both top 10 elite programs at the same time???? Cmon. That would be pretty cool. Only time we really saw it was in the 2000 season when both were very good.

As i asked in my pick'em update post, is there a bigger train wreck this season than USC and is it hard to pick them to cover because of it? Picking and staying with a QB has helped some, but they are far from a dominating force. Can their defense stop Carey and deal with the pace in the late stages of the game? I'm really on the fence with this one right now.

Agreed. I think the game is decided by a touchdown or less. Hopefully with Arizona coming out on top.

You have no run game and yet somehow managed to get ranked based off a BS win over Wisconsin.

Except Grice=nfl we just have no blocking. But I will say if Kelly keeps it more it opens up the option. YOU KNOW THE OPTION THE THING KELLY SHOULD BE RUNNING. Its an option right? Why doesnt kelly ever keep it?

Denker is horrible though. If you have a good qb you beat USC.

Have you seen any of USC's QB's? Denker may not be as good as Scott, but SC doesn't have any that good right now either.

As for their offense, did you see USC's game against ASU? They gave up 62 fucking points man. While ASU may have a better passing game than Arizona, I don't know that their D will totally shut down their running game either.

That's what makes this game so hard to pick. USC gave up only 10 points to a high passing WSU team and gets blown off the field to where their HC gets shit canned against ASU. They now have an interim head coach and no one really knows what to make of them.

Yea Kessler isnt very good at all. I would actually take Uofas defense over ours. My fellow ASU fans may jump on me for this, I think we will get better as the season goes on as we gain more confidence. Anway back to the Uofa vs Usc game, heres the key Denkers running ability Kelly had some huge runs on qb keepers, USC is terrible on containement I could actually see Zona running for 300 yards. Take Zona in this one Denker,Carey, and Jenkins will have a field day.

Watch there horrible containment at :25 Kelly had 3 big runs like this. Denker is built for these type of plays Uofa wins.

PS: I suck at spelling so fuck trying lol.

Wisconsin was outplayed and the better team won. One play doesn't decide a game. If the refs hadn't screwed up calls earlier in the game the last play would be irrelevant because ASU would have won by at least a touchdown.

Because all the team's we've played have been told to take Kelly on the option. With the push they were getting on our offensive line why risk a big run by the QB? You saw what happened when USC let him keep it.

Zona has only had one challenge so far this year and it was in a total monsoon (and not those dust versions you all talk about). That was hardly a game you can pull much out of other than UW can play a whole lot better in totally shitty weather at home than the cats can on the road. I honestly think if it had been clear or even just the normal Seattle rainy UW probably scores at least 40 on them, but SC is no UW (isn't that just sad to say?).

I'd really like to pick the wildcats but USC could regroup after Kiffin's departure and put a good game together too.

I just don't know what to do with that game.
