We already have a SS, and a 2B.
Not sure where he'd play on a full time basis with us.
Besides....we could use that money on more pitching in the event Jake, Bassitt & Walker are gone.
Plus we have a find a way to keep Nimmo too.

We could really put him anywhere and I wouldn't be shocked if Escobar becomes a bench player that we rotate around. It'll be a good problem to have.

Nov. 15: RHP Stephen Ridings claimed off waivers
The Mets claimed Ridings, a Long Island native, off waivers from the Yankees, adding another high-octane candidate to their bullpen mix. Ridings, 27, hit 101 mph with his fastball during a brief Major League experience in 2021. He missed almost all of this past season due to a shoulder injury.
In Flushing, Ridings will compete for a spot in the Opening Day bullpen.

Nov. 11: RHP John Curtiss has option exercised
The Mets exercised Curtiss' $775,000 option for 2023 after overseeing his rehab from Tommy John surgery throughout this summer. Prior to joining the Mets, Curtiss was a successful reliever for the Rays, Marlins and Brewers, producing a 2.86 ERA from 2020-21 before injuring his elbow and subsequently signing with the Mets. He will be a bullpen option for the team on Opening Day.

Buck Showalter, Mets
For a team that lacked stability and consistency despite talented rosters in recent seasons, Showalter was the antidote. Immediately upon his hiring, the veteran manager began making changes to the way the Mets operated their business, from on-field drills to the types of people employed by the organization. The result was the second-most successful season in franchise history: Showalter improved the Mets from a 77-win team in 2021 to a 101-win club this summer. Among Major League teams, only the Orioles improved more dramatically.

The criticisms of Showalter are two-fold. One, much of this year’s credit must also go to owner Steve Cohen (for approving a massive payroll increase) and general manager Billy Eppler (for acquiring the right players to engineer New York’s renaissance). Two, Showalter’s Mets faltered at the end, finishing in second in the NL East despite leading the division for nearly the entire summer. That proved to be their undoing when they subsequently lost a best-of-three Wild Card Series against the Padres.

Still, Manager of the Year is a regular-season award, and Showalter did as much as anyone could have asked in his first summer at the helm, helping the Mets navigate past significant injuries to Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer along the way. He also created a new standard of professionalism in Flushing that should continue to be the blueprint in future seasons. Under Showalter’s steady hand, the Mets expect to continue making noise on an annual basis. -- Anthony DiComo

Eh, not sure what happened to Bellinger but I'm not gambling on a bounce back.

Also, don't like this:

Nov. 20: RHP William Woods claimed off waivers
The Mets continued their run of claiming hard-throwing pitchers off waivers, nabbing Woods from the Braves. Atlanta's 25th-ranked prospect according to MLB Pipeline, Woods made his big-league debut in April but missed a chunk of the season due to an ankle injury. A recent convert to bullpen work, Woods struggled in the Minors and in the Arizona Fall League, but he is a high-octane arm who has flirted with triple digits in the past.
