Sounds like a panic reaction more than anything because of the deGrom situation. I’d hate to lose Dom for a mediocre pitcher (Paddack) ....and besides where would they play Hosmer anyway? Because it won’t be at 1B.
There are much better pitchers available out there. I’d nix this dumb deal.

At this point I'd much rather roll the dice with one of our young guys and assess.

Not sure where he'd play on a full time basis with us.
Besides....we could use that money on more pitching in the event Jake, Bassitt & Walker are gone.
