Smith is among the latest group of players the team has signed to a reserve/futures contract for the 2012 roster. They include former Penn State wide receiver Derrick Williams, who announced via Twitter that he had signed with the Steelers, and four others.

The Ravens drafted Smith on the fifth round in 2007 and he was a backup in Baltimore for three seasons. He was with San Francisco in 2010 and then with the Omaha Nighthawks of the UFL last season.

Williams was drafted in the third round by the Detroit Lions in 2009 but waived by them before the start of last season.

Others signed included wide receivers Tyler Beiler, Jimmy Young and David Gilreath, and cornerback Walter McFadden.
