Hey LOC. I tried to click on a political thread that you started, and my fucking browser seized up. Had to shut down and restart. And when I tried to run a security scan, an "unknown error" shut down the scanner.

I'm on backup computer now. Had to use system restore on the other one, running scan in safe mode now, and it's taking forever. This has caused me great inconvenience, and I'm still not sure if I've gotten a handle on the problem. Have you been visiting naughty sites or something?

ok, right here you have a virus that shuts down all your security. It embeds itself into your system restore, so one thing you have to do is shut down system restore. you will lose all your restore points, but if yoiu try and use restore, it just restores the virus

you may not need to shut down restore. Malwares anti malwarebytes did just fine for the last two viruses I got. believe it or not, one came from fux xpurts

No, not a specific message. Not even completely sure it's malware, but sure seems like it. Browser seized up, and something disabled the ca scanner. Used system restore to go back a week, but scanner still quit after a couple of min.

Used system restore again, then started in safe mode. Scanner working, though it says my virus signature is out of date, and wouldn't update, so I think internet access is blocked, at least in part. Tricky fucker, that's for sure.

take a jump drive and load it with the malwarebytes, and get it to the infected computer that way. YOU DO have a virus, its a tricky one. sooner or later its going to let itself known, you need to get it first. if yiour virus scanner is shutting down its definatly malware thats trying to take over. the first thing it has to do is infect the restore files and shut down the virus scan.
