Come on guys, its preseason.... this is where we make the mistakes... see what works and what doesn't!!! I mean shit we dont get anything for a perfect preseason record or style points!!!! Besides any year we went unbeaten in preseason.... we managed to fuck up the regular season when it counted!!!

Don't expect much from games in the preseason though

Always nice getting the games three hours earlier then back in the burgh.

No need for gameplans in the preseason! I've always liked & hated that mentality at the same time! haha

Yep! I was definitely not expecting a win, but I thought our 1st team would have a better outing. Pretty hard to get a read on the offense if our O-line can't protect Ben! Hopefully this was a good learning experience.

Initial Thoughts:
1) Sanders looks primed for a big year! 2 tough away-from-the-body grabs in a row for 1st downs.
2) Dwyer had a decent outing (minus the fumble, which was a good play by the defender). A few times he showed his 2012 self by dancing too much. But overall he took a big step forward.
3) Rookies looked great! JJ looked more comfortable than his 1st game, which led to good disruptive play. Landry took a few baby steps forward. I think that 45-yard grab boosted his confidence. His pocket awareness was pretty decent. Shmarko laid down a good old fashioned 'Burgh pummeling. And Wheaton continued to look impressive. If Landry would have hit him in stride on that bomb, it would have been a TD.
4) I liked the overall intensity of the defense. They continued to play solid football, which is easy to expect from Lebeau.

I hate to put too much stock in pre-season, especially for the vets.
It's mostly base packages, to get an eye on the rookies and new free agents.
