Congrats on 9 in a row Flyer fans! :suds:

Unfortunately, nobody is pulling away from anyone in the Metro. The top five teams are soon to be a combined 28-0 in win streaks. I think you could argue that they are the five best teams in the Nhl too.

Really crazy that it is happening but of all 5 teams, the Flyers are easily the most impressive in their streak. Not sure I can remember this many teams in the same division all streak at the same time like this?

It's going to end in a week, but it's a bit much right now. NYR @ Pitt on the 20th, Washington @ Philly on the 21st and Pitt @ Columbus on the 22nd.

So, this is our longest win streak since April of '95 and Stolarz is the youngest Flyer goalie to post a shutout since Roussell in February of '92.

Pretty unreal stuff here to do all of this with key injuries to Neuvy, Couturier, Read, Gordon, Gudas, Ghost and now Streit. That and it has been 9 wins in only 15 days, which is pretty grueling.

I hope Ghost is ready to go Wednesday night or Schultz will probably have to play for the first time in forever.

Funny that Stolarz gets our first shutout of the season.

From ESPN Insider on Gostisbehere:

'The Flyers have noticed that teams are playing him differently this season. Teams know his tendencies. They’re trying to take away his space. That comes when there’s enough time to scout a talented player. For Gostisbehere to return to the levels of production he posted last season, there needs to be growth now from him. He understands that.

“When I get the puck, there’s someone coming at me right away. When I first got called up last year, you could say that wasn’t happening,” Gostisbehere said from the press box of Sunday’s game. “It’s something you have to adjust. Every great player does it. I want to be a better player at doing that.”'

I noticed this but i just thought he got bigger and lost some speed and wasn't able to get away from players like he did last year.

Random thought: Last nights Boston vs Montreal game was played at a playoff level from start to finish. Hard checks open ice hits speed up and down scoring chances all night and great goaltending.

The checks that were throw in this game Flyers would've been suspended for.

Yea, next time he plays and the Flyers are on a PP....
every time the puck goes to ghost they go right for him, last year they didn't do that and he would take the shot....That was one of the first things I noticed with him this year.

Kind of like Provey and Konecny, no one knows what they will do, next year teams will play them a lot different.

Ghost will figure it out, but he is still a key role with G and Voracek.

Honestly, watching games I think the officiating sucks ass!!!
Even the announcers say about the refs trying to even things up as far as power plays.... I mean WTF is that about.... if your team gets penalized 6 to 8 times, thats your teams fault!!!

Another few thoughts about the Stars game:
1st shift Roussel takes a run at Voracek in the open ice
2nd shift Rousel jousting with Jake in the faceoff circle
10 seconds later Gudas is taking runs at Rousell and he forgets all about Jake
Gotta love that guy

Lets not forget about Schenn standing up to that monster Stephen Johns 6'4" 230 for TK.

I think this is why the PP is clicking so well. They are over playing and paying so much attention to Ghost that the other guys are finding passing and shooting lanes.
