This game tonight should be quite a test. Let's see what we can do with it. We are one of only five teams that has yet to play a game this season, so this is way overdue.

Second period was one of the best periods I've seen in a long time especially considering 4 guys out. Took them a bit to get going and they cruised at the end.

Great effort from everyone but I tell you Pro is going to be a good one he's calm makes his passes and skates effortlessly... smooth! He was out there in all situations no panic. AMac looked good too.

At forward Couts line looks explosive G will benefit from this as they can't focus on him. Guys like Read Cousins Weise Gordon all solid efforts.

The second period was pretty unreal, no doubt. Konecny on the second goal by Couturier really showed a dynamic, elite level of skill in making that backhand pass with two defenders right in his kitchen. What I love about Provorov is how strong he is on his skates already at 19, his ability to win battles more often than not and how slick he is with his puck moving. These two are going to be with us all season long and it's going to be an absolute pleasure to watch.

Sean Couturier may be the happiest guy on the planet this morning knowing that he's flanked by a rejuvenated Voracek that looks like he's going to score 80+ points again and an electric rookie in Konecny where the sky appears to be the limit.

Definitely, we were all probably worried when the Kings got a late second period goal, an early third period goal and then a very weak penalty called on MacDonald, but we worked it out and shut them down. Major props to Neuvy for keeping this one scoreless through one period. He was solid and really could've done nothing with the two that got by him.

Looking back at the stats, we got handled in the faceoff circle and definitely need to improve there, but you have to love the potential of this team moving forward. That is a veteran squad over there that was in desperate need of a win, really.

Pretty nice shot by Gordon to get our first goal of the season too. Who would've called that one? Lol I don't know that a guy like Giroux is fully up to speed yet, but once he is, this is a very dangerous team.

I can't wait until Schenn is back either and it's also really nice to see that our defense could be just fine without Gudas and MDZ. Guys like MacDonald, Manning and Schultz really looked at home.

Neuvy has sort of staked his claim as the starter and now Mase has to do the same for himself if he gets the nod tonight.

I though Manning had one of his best games as a Flyer. Was physical and pushed the rush for the 1st goal. Konecny looks like he belongs. Was physical and creates chances and opens up the ice. All effort every shift. I thought Provorov looked nervous in the 1st and settled down in the 2nd and 3rd. He started the 2nd on the PK which looked to give him confidence. After the 1st he looked really good.

Altogether though, this was a really impressive effort. The Kings were one of the top three teams defensively last season and we just hung four on them in one period. I think we could've even had five or six in total, for sure. The breakaway by Konecny in which he pulled away from Kopitar and shot by Streit off a pass from Konecny were about as close as you can get to scoring. That's an all-world pass by Konecny also.
