Just looked at the cap situation. We are $853,333 over with 14 forwards, 8 dmen and 3 goalies. Stolarz will be sent down which means we will be $100k over the cap. The only waver exempt remaining payers are Ghost, Laughton, Konecny and Provorov. Laughton can't go because of the injury and Konecny and Provorov cant go because they go to Juniors.

If Ghost goes down, MDZ gets put on LTIR and Ghost and another dman comes up tomorrow. We only have 6 right now with the Gudas suspension and MDZ injury. Would Morin get the call which would leave us with 2 rookies and a 2 year guy out there?

If VV goes down he could be claimed. MDZ would go on LTIR and we still have to bring a dman and a forward up.

Should be an interesting few days.

Looks like they're sending Lyubimov down and LTIR'ing Laughton today. Keeping Weal up. Then tomorrow they LTIR MDZ, send Weal down, bring Lyubimov back up.

I am worried that we don't have an extra defender to start the season and it's a back to back situation right away. Manning has to play, which is also not necessarily ideal.

While Gudas probably did deserve his suspension, six games definitely seems excessive. I have to agree with Hexy on that. Still can't believe Schenn is suspended at all.

Hopefully none of this haunts us and we can start the season off better than we have in years, which has most always been poorly.

I hope we win more games in regulation or overtime this season. Last season, we only had 15 wins by the new year, which seems really low to me and illustrates the slow start issue we still have as well.

Obviously, keeping games from getting to the shootout is going to benefit us also. I'm not sure that we're clear of that issue yet. I would seriously consider pulling our goalie late in OT if we start losing a bunch of shootouts again. It would at least be a more exciting gamble, to me.

We played far too many playoff type games late last season too, which led to us running out of gas against the top seed. They will probably win the division and conference again, but we're much improved.

Really looking forward to the Bruins' game today (after watching Ohio State win) have yet to see 60 minutes of hockey from the Flyers this pre-season.

I have to admit I said this too after watching him play a few games in Juniors. But, the guy sure puts up the stats somehow.

Although Manning isnt our ideal replacement he has in the past played OK enough to be a fill in so i think we should be ok regarding that issue. Plus no Gaborik for LA

Gudas and Schenn were BS way longer than they should have. Just another example of the league F'ing the Flyers Broad Street will never go away. Manning should be ok wonder if Morin will get called up?
