I would consider starting Rinaldo tonight. Get him to destroy someone, as clean as he's capable of. Get the blood boiling. Boiling blood is a benefit to the Flyers, even if they do have to kill a penalty early.

I'm going with an 8-6 final.
Well, the Caps just went down to Edmonton in regulation, so we amazingly sit only two points out of the top spot in the division. Most of these teams have played fewer games, yes, but only the Rangers are winning right now. This division is wide open.
I am just glad that one of these games at Pittsburgh was available to us this early on in the season. I think this sort of a team effort against the team that was leading the league in goals per game and power play percentage entering tonight could really get us going.
You heard Bellemare after the game talking about playing for each other out there on the ice and it really showed. We're going to win a lot more games if we continue to display this moving forward.
really starting to love Bellamare. he was so pumped to score his first goal and I love that he talks about playing for each other. seems like a great team guy.
I like Frenchie on 2nd like with Simmonds and Schenn. He has skill. The need to build some chemistry. If last night gets Read and Umberger going we have 3 really good lines. Frenchie is listed as a RW. If he can play LW I would like to see what it wold look like with Frenchie - G -Jake.
1st things 1st, its one of the few games I watched start to end. We dominated for good stretches. Any win against the Pens is a good win. I try to be an optimist and hate complaining after a win. The problem is that our defense stinks. Streit is actually better than I thought he was. The other 5 show flashes but make too many mistakes that end or will end in bad things happening. It seemed like on one shift the Pens kept the puck in our zone for a full minute. This was our line up last night.
A Mac - Grossmann
Streit - Schultz
MDZ -Schenn.
Coburn coming back makes it a little easier to swallow as I think its a little better with
Coburn - Streit
A Mac - Grossmann
Schultz, MDZ, Schenn.
I think Schultz has been more solid than MDZ and Schenn. Announcers kept saying how happy Chief is with MDZ. I don't see it.
And by the way, what's up with Coburn. He has gone from serious injury to not serious injury to day to day to being back to being scratched.
I'd be all for that.
What happens with Vinny if Frenchie stays on that line?
I'd either put Vinny between Schenn and Simmonds, or at LW with Giroux and Voracek. Neither of those are ideal, but I think those are the choices. Bellamare takes the other slot, Raffl down to the 4th line, jones/vandevelde scratched?
if they wanted to go a different direction, I would be interested to see a '4th line' of rinaldo.vinny.akeson or something similar.. basically makes it another scoring line and would doom coots to defense again though.
I was thinking
Frenchie - G - Jake
Schenn - Vinny - Simmonds
Umberger - Couts - Read
4th line
Streit - Coburn
Schultz - Grossmann
The remainder of the weak links.
lol, I think that's the best they're going to be able to coble together. I really hope Bellamare stays off the 4th line, I think the team is better when he plays more than 8 minutes a night.
wouldn't mind a bit of a mix up on defense, I'd really like to see MDZ and Coburn together. might be a catastrophic failure, but there's a chance that could be a solid pair IMO. it'd be worth checking out for a couple of games.
