My Pro sports teams are off to Shitty starts. Injuries are never an excuse but the Rams lose Bradford, Chris Long and T. Johnson while the Flyers are down Kimmo and now Vinny. I don't care what you say but those hurt.

In good new, my College Hockey team is up to #4 in one poll and #6 in the other. They split on the road with #6/7. Of course the 2nd leading scorer from last year missed the weekend with an injury.

Final thought: I will never be considered a Bandwagon Fan!:yahoo:

The Flyers and Rams are starting off weak and we can only hope they finish strong. :suds:

They better or I will need a Sports Anonymous group real soon. I can see it now, "Hi, I'm Chy and I am A Rams and Flyers fan." The only hope would be to have some hot chick that would want to give me a pity fuck!

From Elliotte Friedman:

10. After Chris Pronger’s NHL hiring was announced, Flyers GM Ron Hextall said he’d tried to get something done about the injured defender’s contract, so that it would no longer hang over the team. He didn’t have success from a CBA standpoint. But, last weekend, a couple of sources indicated Philadelphia attempted to trade his rights during the summer. Can’t pin down who, (or for what), but there were some reasonably serious discussions.

11. One other note about Hextall, open in his desire to be patient: When Philly talked with Florida about the number one draft pick, he wanted some kind of cover in case the Flyers’ 2015 first-rounder (which would have been part of the deal) was too high. “Lottery protection” is a staple of NBA trades. For example, when Steve Nash was traded from Phoenix to the Lakers, one of the return picks was a 2015 first-rounder. But, the Suns can’t use it if it is top 5 in 2015 or top 3 in 2016-17. In 2018, it is unprotected. (Neither Hextall nor the Panthers would comment.)

both very interesting. it would be awesome to unload that Pronger deal on a low budget team looking for the cap hit.

I'm not sure the Islanders would make another Tim Thomas move. Snow wants to be competitive this year. I'd guess Buffalo or Florida.

Maybe Florida they can't be doing that well only 8 K at the last game. Time to move them to Quebec City! That place would go nuts for them...

Sometimes it doesn't suck to have DirecTV and technically live in market so I don't have to watch these types of games

A few observations for our latest loss, that being against the Ducks.

Jake, is a very good player and at times an absolute stud. When he hits high gear, he cant be stopped. He needs to get himself into open space and let G make the moves for an open shot.

Couts will be a stud. He is showing more offensive skills each year. Has 2nd line skills but is so good defensively, he will stay on 3rd.

B. Schenn is lost. He is too young to be moved around like he is. Not enough maturity to handle this. Has real skill and a goal scores touch, but needs to be put with someone and stick.

I cant blame the individuals on defense for our defensive problems. Most of them would be good in the role that they should be playing. A 14 minute guy playing 18-20 minutes will get burned. I think Streit - Grossmann would be a decent 2nd line paring. Problem is that we don't have a shutdown pairing but what would be 2 pretty good 3rd parings. If some of these guys played less, they would give more quality minutes.

Good point chy, dmen are playing in roles they were not meant for and as a result they might be getting worn out. Unfortunately they'll have to deal with that unless Timonen makes a miraculous comeback. I don't thing the young guys are ready & they don't have the cap space to make a major move right now. Hopefully things get better when Coburn gets back.

I was expecting more from Bellamare. He didn't do much against the Ducks.

I see a similar problem with he and Schenn. Frenchie had some chemistry on the 4th line and now he is moved. Simmonds said it best. He knew what Vinny would do so he could make a move. Frenchie is learning the NHL and will develop in short course. Shenn is not a plug in the line up player. He needs time with his line or he looks very out of place. Again I don't blame the players. Schenn is young and Frenchie is learning. Give him a few more games and some practice with these guys and he will start to show more talent.

Sekera is $2.75. They have room to take on space but what would they want. We need to move D to get D. After Streit, I would say take your pick and I would throw in a pick. Best news is that if we did get him, Hexy would not double or triple his salary for 5 years like Homer would.
