ha, they've certainly made some bad ones. i'd argue the sharp one is worse than the lindros one. at least they got a bonafide superstar in that trade.

also, i think it's a little early to include the bob one. yes, right now, it looks awful. but lets see if bob regresses (has a little this season) and see what stolarz becomes before we judge it too harshly. pretty easy to say it's lopsided when your half of the trade hasn't played a professional game yet.

Big day today with basically the only four teams that can catch us all in action. I'm feeling pretty comfy with Washington playing Boston and the Wings visiting Toronto. Those games alone could put two of those 80 point teams in real peril, especially the Leafs.

The Caps are screwed because they are going to lose any tie in the points, so they have to beat two of Columbus, Detroit and Toronto outright.

The Leafs are done. The Caps could still get in as a wild card, but their prize will be playing Boston in round one...lol

Obviously the Devils, Canes and Sens are all done too.

All we have to do is beat Columbus in our own building on thursday and I think we just about have a top three seed locked up. Our schedule isn't bad after the next few games. Buffalo, Florida and Carolina are struggling cellar-dwelling type teams and we know we can beat Pittsburgh in their building.

Is Couturier the best penalty killing forward in the NHL? (Read and Hall get honorable mentions)

This blows. A day without any games that matter. Tomorrow will be HUGE though.

I'm not sure if we're taking this one seriously by sitting Timonen and Mason, but this is another big night with all of our direct competition lacing them up too.

Beat Columbus and get a point from Boston and I'll be happy. Then the toughness of the schedule drops off quite a bit and we have our games in hand against the NYR on the final two sundays of the season against inferior teams.

You know as well as I do that this was nothing short of a miracle. Gus is a worthwhile replacement, but Emery got lucky. The Blues cranked a lot of shots wide that should've been prime scoring chances, especially from the second period on.

he shut out arguably the best team in the league, without his best defender. on some level, you have to give emery some respect.

(not to take away from the defense, which i also thought played quite well)

Ghost isn't a finalist for the Hobey Baker - I would have sworn each day I voted, he was in the top three in votes and it wasn't even close - what happened?

he was leading a couple of the days i voted.. only thing i can see is if the 27 member selection committee really has all the pull, and the fan voting doesn't mean much?

Next, the 27-member Selection Committee and an additional round of fan balloting (at Hobey Baker Memorial Award Foundation - Hobey Baker from March 20-30) will determine this year’s Hobey Baker winner.

He played a fairly sloppy game with his rebounds and managed to somehow get away with it. It still goes down as a loss. Mason beat St. Louis handily. I can't get over the wide difference in their respective stats regardless.

Must be the case then, because I know that there were three guys who were running away with the fan voting(Ghost, Johnny Hockey and Adam Wilcox) and it wasn't even close

If the committee has the pull, then they should quit the fan voting because it's a mockery
