Hurricane Milton is headed right at my friends in Clearwater. They are evacuating to my house. They just “warned” me they are bringing a freezer full of steaks. I better go get a bottle of propane. I have plenty of charcoal. I don’t know if @BigKen is going to have to wait to fill his pool but you guys down there be careful!

Been pumping out the ground and rain water but we've had some really powerful rain over the past couple of days and it can't dry out.
Every day of rain backs up the subs two days or longer. I thought I'd be swimming by now. Might be swimming in the pools around the pools by Thursday. Supposedly, we will get between 6.5 and 8.5 inches of rain.

Thank the good Lord that it ain't snow.

I'm using a 1/4 HP fountain pump in my back yard right now to get rid of the gigantic puddle that's threatening the pool shell and a 2 HP pump in the pool to relieve the ground water and constant rain over the past two days. Can't wait for Milton to get here.

My friends from Clearwater are here and we just finished eating barbecued ribs and steaks. They are happy and safe but are likely to lose everything back home and are not covered by insurance

My immediate thought is: If you can't afford the insurance you should afford the property, but my apology for the judgmental statement toward your friends.

Its a mobile home.
Mobile homes without insurance are tough. The replacement is pretty cheap, especially if tied to one of those parks where you don't own the property - but removing the old one is veeeeerrrrry costly.
