Not sure why this posted twice. But I don't think what your meat cutter friend said has any truth to it. Two of these ranches locally raise and slaughter their cattle on the spot. As for Publix other than their chicken I won't buy meat from them, their beef has no marbling. Which is why I ran down these local ranchers
It posted twice because it was so important!
Yes, she was wrong - but she's a woman and there was no convincing her.
When / if buying beef at Publix, do your own grading. One of the best steaks I've had in the last year was from Publix.
But you are correct, most of their steaks have little to no marbling - just right for Karens!

Isn't marbling the stuff that clogs your arteries?

The couch is what clogs your arteries, along with high triglycerides. Get you HDL and you will be ok - if not too late.
That my curse - genetically low HDL. When training hard and eating rights (including things like sardines often) I can barely get HDL to the low range of normal. My triglycerides on the other hand, always low.

Last year I trained hard for my century bike ride, then turkey trot run of 5 miles. My reward for this year - a heart attack.

Well then have a steak
That's the part I'm still trying to figure out. For now, they want me below 2,000 MG of salt and 15g of saturated fat. The salt part is due to keeping my blood thin (with meds) while the system assimilate the stent. The sat fat is about the clogging, I still have blockages of 70% or so in a couple of arteries that I guess is somewhat normal (scarey normal?).

The weirdest part: while having the attack, my BP was 112 over 74 and my heart rate was in the low 60s. I felt normal other than feeling like I was hungover. Urgent care checked my heart after checking 3 other things first.

Watched most of it and only the low hdl describes me. I gave up most seed oils long ago, and never used them much anyways. Most of the oil I use is olive, avocado or butter.

From our back and forths on many past threads, I'd say we align pretty well with our food values.

It kills me when I see we've been told manufactured food is better than real food. Unfortunately most of our meat is now "manufactured meat" since our animals are fed food that's been manufactured or is way cheaper than the food the animal would choose. Big lettering declares chickens were given an all vegetarian diet when they want worms, bugs and small rodents mixed in. Cows have two stomachs for processing grass, but are fed corn byproducts- the leftover mess after producing ethanol.

Towards the end he talks a bit about cold showers, Apple Cider Vinegar and HIIT to get the fat off the heart.

Yeah - I agree with that and it may be part of the answer for what happened to me.

I have a sedentary job but stay in shape and eat well. But maybe being in cardiovascular health isn't about toned muscles or even a small waste line. Maybe it's more about frequency of use rather than intensity when using it. Maybe I should have been walking for several minutes three times a day and keeping the blood in a state of motion instead of binge working then binge watching one day, then moving the blood and toning the muscles on another.

I have high BP, "corrected" by medicines that are killing me.
They want me on a low sodium diet (knee-jerk) when my bloodwork shows very low sodium. Very low.
Low sodium can be very dangerous.
Saturated fat is not bad for me. I have zero blockages. Not all saturated fat is the same.
If it wasn't for the doctors, I would probably live to 103! But I expect them to kill me by 80.
