I'm dead serious....................The Ice Cream there is the best I've ever had.
I'll be the judge of that....well...I'll form my own opinion anyway!
If you're an ice cream junkie try their Almond Joy.
Uhm no. I just brought up their menu. Chocolate, Vanilla...ZIP...top right caught my eye. MOCHA CHIP! OH YEAH!!
Warning, warning, warning.......................

Their small is a large anywhere else. A triple cone has to be eaten in air conditioning or you cannot eat it fast enough to keep it from dripping all over you. A large is nearly a full quart of ice cream.
So I won't eat from now to July...
The only seafood I can eat are fried clams. Don't get strips, like Rb says, go full belly or get something else.
Whole Belly is the only way to go! (From Woodman's) but I'll be getting the lobster roll.
I lived on the west side of Manchester for 25 years and never hesitated to drive to the other side to get a large Goldenrod's. The night before we moved, the wife made me drive over as a departing farewell and a last cone.
Another 5 weeks and I may be a fan as well!

Unless the tornadoes get you! Hunker down!
When we bought our house we wanted;

A big Kitchen for socializing
Normal sized bedrooms for both kids (Why are so many houses built with 1 normal and 1 tiny???)
A basement for tornadoes.

Everything else we were willing to compromise.

Sorry.

We can talk about pulled pork if you would like?
Brisket...

Or, better yet, let me tell you about the Prime Filets I got from Costco. $19.99/lb for PRIME!!
3.5 lbs, I season them and then Grill them over charcoal and cherry wood. I would have rather had the Prime Ribeye's which were the same price, but the wife likes the tenderloin and we have done ribeye's (Choice $13.99/lb) for the past...5 weeks?
I grill a couple all the way, medium rare, but cook the rest straight up rare so we can reheat them in the oven without drying them out. Slap some butter or bacon grease on them for the hell of it. Fuck they're good.

Does prime fillet really have anh higher fat content?
Costco has a few cuts of prime beef. I wonder what happens to the rest of the prime steer?

Never been a fan of brisket. I would rather do a beef rib roast

Long read but you will find it interesting and informational.

Looking at the Prime Filet next to the Choice Filet, you can see the difference.
Same with the Ribeye's.

And so tender.

That's pretty alarming. I was aware of that distinction, but not the extent of invalidating that occurs. I won't believe it, based on the source, without digging into a bit. But that's damning.
Yeah I'm with you. Just because companies are allowed to do something doesn't mean they are. Plus I have three cattle ranches near by I purchase from them a lot now

They need a response emoji for "lucky", not that where you live wasn't a choice. Any place like that near me is priced like a tourist attraction.

Don't get me wrong, I do my best to buy good, healthy food, but it usually seems Costco is my best option and places like Trader Joe's is my fallback.

Amazingly, we have been getting our organic chicken thighs from Whole Foods, They are both cheaper and better than the organic chicken thighs at Kroger or Publix.

We also get our ghee and cream there as well.
Sometimes berries.

I had a friend in NC who was a meat cutter. She insisted there was no such thing as local beef.
"It all goes to the feedlots in KC"
We had local beef in San Luis Obispo. That's why we had amazing steakhouses.
We had local beef in CA valley. Too expensive to ship cattle to KC and back. Often during covid, we got cow meat because the farmers could not sell milk. There are a lot of dairies in Hanford area. The ribeyes from the cows were excellent, as were the skirt steaks.
All around the states their are small farms and small butchers with connections.
Here in Lagrange there is a small butcher that has tri-tip that obviously does not come from large scale operations.
Their tri-tips are very fatty and not saleable in Karens grocery store.
If you had tri-tip as it was originally cooke in Central California you would be surprised by the flavor!
California raises a lot of beef. We have a lot of cattlemen and no self-respecting cattleman is going to the chain groceries for beef!
Ihad a friend in San Jose that worked in a meat plant. They made hamburger from the entire steer/cow.
They allowed him to buy the fillets fo $2 per pound. They were excellent! They were never in a grocery store.
I buy from Publix when not at Costco. They have Choice "prime rib" on sale for major holidays. It is not good.
When the sale is over, the choice "prime rib" mysteriously is way better!
I don't buy grass fed. I don't buy organic (usually) I buy choice when it is good and I don't buy prime when it is not as good.

Not sure why this posted twice. But I don't think what your meat cutter friend said has any truth to it. Two of these ranches locally raise and slaughter their cattle on the spot. As for Publix other than their chicken I won't buy meat from them, their beef has no marbling. Which is why I ran down these local ranchers
