ferrer has made a living out of surprising people

if any of the big hitters (berdych included) is really on, though, there's absolutely nothing ferrer can do.

the good news for ferrer is that outside of the current "real" top 3, most of the big hitters aren't able to play great ball consistently deep in tournaments, so ferrer capitalizes.

berdych has the game to beat anybody on any given day.

ferrer's best bet is the french which mitigates serve speed and tends to have a disproportionate number of upsets.

this is what ferrer does. grinds until his bigger hitting opponents get frustrated and eventually tire due going after all of the balls that ferrer retrieves.

it's why he's in the top 4 and makes the 2nd week of majors so consistently.

Terrible service game from Ferrer to go down a break after missing a couple of chances to break Berdych in the previous game.

With that I'm going to call it a night...Gotta be up in 4.5 hours for work. Hoping when I get up I will catch some of Novak/Wawrinka
