This - I don't like Dave Cameron (head coach of Mississauga), the guy is this close to having a coronary behind the bench.

Actually Mississauga blew 2-0 & 3-2 leads over Owen Sound in the OHL finals.

I don't know why Owen Sound didn't play Binnington against Kootenay. What a stupid move by the coach.

As for Cameron I can understand why some Canadians might not like him. I mean as Head Coach of Team Canada at the World Jr's his team had it all but wrapped up only to blow it in the end.

Anyone think he could be the next Head Coach of the Senators?

dash

The Islanders have until a day or two before the draft to sign Cizikas. I expect them to get it done. They waited until after the Memorial Cup last year to sign Hamonic so it's not a big deal.

Plus the Islanders were willing to give Casey a chance when many teams probably didn't have him on their draft boards. They've stuck by him. One former Islander who thinks highly of Cizikas is Bryan Trottier. He thinks Casey is a keeper.

Yeah it sucks. Imma try to fool the compy into thinking I'm in Canada so I can watch the Sportsneet feed online and if that doesn't work I'll listen to a radio feed. I don't want to miss this game even if I don't get to watch it.

6 penalties so far in the semifinal and the first period isn't over yet. It's killing any chance for this game to have some flow.

Mississauga beat Kootenay 3-1.

Ducks 2nd rounder Devante Pelly-Smith scored two goals & JP Anderson stopped 28 of 29 shots to leade the Ice Dogs to victory. Apparently Mississauga will be without Sabres prospect Greg Sutch for the final. It looked like he suffered a shoulder injury. Dave Cameron said Sutch was a longshot to play Sunday.

Good luck to both teams. Hopefully those of us in the USA will get to see the final live.

According to the schedule the final will be broadcast live. Should be a good game, but I'll definitely be rooting for Saint John.

Ah, that's right. I had kinda forgoten about Galiev, but I think it'd be really fun to see that. They'll most likely be teammates next season in Hershey anyway, why not get more acquainted by playing on a big stage.

Galiev is actually only 18 so the AHL won't be a possibilty for him for 2 more years. Its pretty much a given that he will be back in junior for 1 more year unless by some miracle he makes the Caps or he unexpectedly goes back to Europe. I can't see either of those things happening. But yes they likely will be teammates eventually and will mingle at the Caps' rookie camp.

I've probably seen more of the States than the average American, but I've never been to Boston and it's definitely on the bucket list.

Being a Maritimer, I have been to Boston many times and have seen all 4 sports teams in the area. I highly recommend going to Boston for a visit when you get the chance.

They should definately be the favorite. Do you think the layoff will help or hurt the Sea Dogs?

I think it helped because they had a few key guys with some nagging injuries/illnesses. Also the QMJHL regular season schedule is very heavily weighted towards the weekend so being off for 4 or 5 days straight is nothing new. That being said, I don't expect fatigue from Mississauga to play a huge factor. Had either Kootenay or Owen Sound managed to make the finals I think fatigure could be a factor as they would had had to play a lot of hockey in a very short period of time. That's sort of what I was hoping for. ;)

I hope Saint John wins for a couple of reasons:

1. Tough to root for the OHL representative at any time

2. I'm not a fan of a team being called the best junior team when they don't even win their league championship. I understand why they included the host team back when Portland hosted the Memorial Cup (boost attendance), but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Go Missisisauga. Specifically Casey Cizikas. Of course I wouldn't mind one bit if Huberdeau became an Islander as well. Although I don't think he'll be available at 5.

Well what do you know? Huberdeau was actually drafted at #5 today...into the KHL that is. I can't imagine he would ever play there, not even for a season if he doesn't make the NHL next year.

If you're hoping he'll still be available at the NHL draft at #5 then cheering against him and the Sea Dogs tomorrow is probably the right approach.

I think it's too late. I'll be surprised if he doesn't go in the top 4.

Have you heard anything about Lewiston being disbanded? I guess they're going to move the franshise to Sherbrooke, but they won't start playing their until the 2012/2013 season. This means there will be a dispersal draft for all of Lewiston's players.

According to people on the Islanders main fan site this is a done deal. Lewiston was great for Isles prospect Kirill Kabanov so we're a bit concerned about where he might end up next year. I know one thing it won't be Moncton.

Julian already hit on it, and I agree. Given how beat up Saint John has been throughout the playoffs, I think the rest helps. The rust (if there is any) will wear off pretty quickly.
