Interesting trade deadline moves and this team now has some similarities to the team who won it all in the bubble.

They have shooters in Beasley and Russell much like KCP and Green......versatile backup bigs in Bamba, Vanderbilt and Gabriel to go with AD and James.

Bamba started with the Magic. Not the Lakers.

Love this move for a youngster, just 24. And he is a pretty good outside shooter for a backup big man.

Just reported that Beverley will not be required to report to the Magic as they got a Lakers 2024 Second rounder and some of Jeanie's money. So Beverley has been bought-out and is FA which can bring him back to the Lakers to finish the season.
They actually can't bring him back.

Buyout marktet will be interesting but think the Suns will make a bunch of moves since they are really thin now on the bench

Doubt we get anybody. Think we roll with what we have.

Walker won't be brought back.

There's a chance. He may not get enough minutes the balance of the season to really drive his value up, so maybe the small raise the Lakers can give him without Birds rights could be enough. Also depends on if there is mutual interest to do so of course.

He won't because if Hach gets 10 mill we have like 13 mill in cap space.

And Hach needs to start playing well to get that type of money. He has just been meh so far.....and if we let him walk it's okay if we got him for a rental because we recouped some 2nd rounders for Bryant.

I'd be interested in signing Russell and flipping him, maybe Vanderbilt and a 2nd rounder for Irving if Irving still wants to be here with 'Bron.

This is assuming we don't make a deep run this postseason. If we do, bring back D-Lo.

Lakers got a lot younger, 'Bron is the only one over 30.

I believe we can re-sign Walker without cap space but are limited to a small raise (if we're already capped out). If Russell gets an extension this season (as is being rumored), that cap space will be gone anyway. Bird rights (or limited rights) will be used to retain who we can.

By acting as a capped team, we get the MLE and bi-annual exception to work with.

I'd be hesitant to give up Vandy. I think he proves to be the brightest spot of that Utah trade.

He is a really nice player but you don't hold onto a role player when it means you can get a player like Irving.

Yes, I know all about his history but he would give the Lakers a shot at a 2 year window to win.

Vanderbilt doesn't give you that.

No guarantee they keep Russell though.

Dude, give it a rest. Irving is not coming to the Lakers. Dallas gave-up a ton to just start entertaining trade offers.

BTW DJ, I drove right by Alligient Stadium downtown Vegas. Really a very nice stadium decked-out in gloss black and silver trim. The Raidas! Trump Tower across the Interstate overlooks and towers over the stadium. I think you and the wife will like the stadium. Beautiful place.

I am liking the new Lakers roster. Gone is eff-up boy. Coming out of SLC, I listened to a local sports talk show and the pundits collectively believe that Westbrook won't be a Jazz member long. The Jazz don't want his locker room influences on all of the new youngsters. They believe Westbrook will be moved probably in the summer in a package deal They all miss Mike Conley but Ainge has accumulated 15 number one picks between now and 2030. Whew!! The same dudes also believe that Ainge will package that Lakers top four number one in 2027 because, as they stated, the Lakers will figure out how to stay out of the top four picks of the draft that year and whoever owns it will get NOTHING!! Just like in the movie with DeNiro in the Untouchables!!
