saving mr banks....boring, prayed for zombies to eat emma thompson the enitre move.

hobbit:desolation of smaug ... less boring than the first but enough with the "to be continued" film trilogies. at least have to courtesy to make the separate movies have a conclusion.

I haven't seen Smaug yet (probably this weekend), but I FULLY agree with you re: the To-Be-Continued trend for movies.

The first time it REALLY pissed me off was Matrix 2. Not only was it a crappy movie, but it ended with a TBC.

Dallas Buyers Club

Decent movie. While it was a bit preachy (more about the FDA than the gay agenda, IMHO), it was not nearly as preachy as it could have gotten, and I respect that A LOT.

Jerod Leto really was impressive as Ray. If I did not know that was him, I never would have made the connection. Well earned Oscar. McConaughey did a good job as well, but more so for his body-mutilation than his actual acting. However, to be fair, my favorite acting performance ever was Tom Hanks in Cast Away, and one of the main reasons I liked that performance was due to Hanks' body-mutilation. While MM's acting did not stand up to TH's acting, it was still a well deserved Oscar as well (how TH did not win the Oscar that year is still beyond me).

Went to see The Drop on Saturday. Really good picture. Very dark but seemed realistic. Great acting by Tom Hardy and James Gandolfo in his final role. Enough action to keep anyone interested. Even has a likable pit bull. Sort of a surprise ending that I didn't see coming.

Give it an A-.
....that be one movie I'd like to pay/see,too.

I saw Smaug this past weekend.

Good enough movie, but the To Be Continued was HORRIBLE. The first movie ended at an appropriate break point. Smaug ended just as the climax was about to start. So what was the point of the movie? Aggravating as all hell.

Just watched Good Shepherd.

Action is not part of this film but I liked it.

Not a Jolie fan though.

The Equalizer.
I thought it was a pretty good movie. Didn't move fast but it didn't need to.
My buddy that has similar tastes in movies didn't like it at all.
It maybe could have been 15-20minutes shorter, but all in all a good movie.
Layed out well, told you enough without overexplaining things. I liked the ending.
It's not a movie that I would see again, or over and over but I'll give it a 7/10.

Did a nice job of keeping me entertained for 2hrs and 12min.

agree completely about matrix 2

smaug was worse

i never watched matrix 3 and i'll never watch hobbit 3 either after that horse shit. as if it wasn't bad enough that 90% of Smaug was terrible fan fiction, but to end it like that was not acceptable.

I finally got around to watching 2 Guns on HBO Go. Thought it was a pretty good movie and that Denzel and Mark Wahlberg played well off of each other.

I saw Monument Men as a rental. It was ok. The fact that it was based on real life it somewhat interesting.

this was my take on it also.

this movie could have been bad ass and they completely fucked it up.
not that it was terrible, but it could have been so much better.

I guess I was expecting too much. The real life story was more interesting than the movie.
In fact I saw a documentary about it right before the movie came out and it was way better than the movie.

I enjoyed that one. John Goodman made it for me. But Murray was as good as always. Damon seemed a little out of place.
