Love Punch. Pierce Brosnon and Emma Thompson. Pretty good, doesn't take it self seriously. Great cast covered up some short comings in the script. 7/10

Apollo 13. I give it a 10.

I loved reading about the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space programs when I was growing up; watching Apollo 13 the other day has me feeling nostalgic, and wanting to do more reading on those eras of the U.S. space program.

Saw the worst movie of the year on Thursday. It was called Frank. It's about a band lead by a guy who wears a Jack in The Box type head on his head throughout the movie. Totally ridiculous. They go off into the woods to record an album. Nothing but verbal fights, arguments and put-downs.

We left half way through the movie. Totally dumb and boring. I give it an F.

Also watched November Man, the Thursday before. Despite poor reviews, wife and I both enjoyed it. A fast paced thriller with one group of CIA agents chasing after Pierce Brosnan. More than enough action to keep anyone awake. Give it a B-.

The Chronicles of Riddick

Is there a part 2?

There were 3, if I am not mistaken.

(IMDB is blocked at work, so I cant confirm this)

1) Total Darkness (Again, don't remember the exact title, but it was a good movie)

2) Chronicles of Riddick

3) Riddick

I never saw the third one, because the second one was a snoozer.

So the one I saw is the second one of the series? I'm going to look it up now anyway. Don't worry about it.

Just rented Bad Words on Redbox. Thought that it was hilarious. Surprised it didn't get a bigger release in theaters.

Just got it on Netflix... looking forward to watching it. It seems like comedies that are actually funny are harder to find these days.

One of my favorites. Listening to Tom Hanks narrating, it's easy to forget that he's an actor, and wasn't really an astronaut on the flight.

The Departed
I really enjoyed this movie also.

I collect/watch mostly "older" movies. (the "median" filmed year for my movie collection is about 1977)

The last few that I've watched:

Dark Passage (1947)
Blood Simple (1985)
The Day of the Jackal (1973)

I just saw Broken City last night. I do not remember it coming out in the theaters even though it has a rather impressive cast (Marky Mark, Russell Crowe, Barry Pepper and a TON of recognizable faces - the younger brother from S2 of The Wire; the side-kick chick from Arrow; the media-advisor from Blue Bloods; the chick-cop from Under The Dome; Coach Taylor from Friday Night Lights among others).

For a movie with such an impressive cast that I had never heard of, it actually wasn't bad (I would expect it to be a complete flop for it to get no pub).

I would probably give it about a 6 out of 10.

The last movie I went to in the Theater was "Edge of Darkness" which I really liked. That was a long time ago.

The last Rental was Philomena which was very good.

What did people think of Lucy? That was by the same guy who did the 5th element.

Went to see The Drop on Saturday. Really good picture. Very dark but seemed realistic. Great acting by Tom Hardy and James Gandolfo in his final role. Enough action to keep anyone interested. Even has a likable pit bull. Sort of a surprise ending that I didn't see coming.

Give it an A-.

saving mr banks....boring, prayed for zombies to eat emma thompson the enitre move.

hobbit:desolation of smaug ... less boring than the first but enough with the "to be continued" film trilogies. at least have to courtesy to make the separate movies have a conclusion.
