Richard Jewell.....shows how one federal agent spreading gossip can ruin a family. Long Sam Rockwell in all he does. 8/10

All The Bright Places

Had some nice moments, gets ya in the feelerz. Could have used more character development.

4 For Texas

Loved it.

Frank and Dean, Anita and Ursula, Victor Buono, Charles Bronson AND the 3 Stooges!

And, 1963? I think? Ursula was fucking righteous.

Von Ryan's Express on tap....

Jumanji 3. It’s one of those where if you liked the last one, you’ll probably enjoy this one, although this one I thought was slightly worse. 2.5/5

The Great Escape

I don’t know that I had ever seen this one before. At least not since I was really young.

GREAT movie! It still stands up today, 50 years later. Funny. Tense. Historic.

My only “gripe” would be that it is kinda sad that Steve McQueen got top billing. I understand that top billing is a marketing and negotiated thing, but of all the top characters, his role was more mid-low impact. I would say Charles Bronson, Richard Attenborough and James Garner all had bigger roles. James Coburn’s role was comparable to the McQueen role.

Unfortunately, this movie could not be made today. No gay love story. No trans prisoner educating the rest of the prisoners on acceptance. No local woman who gets in a fight with one of the nazis and kicks his ass.

10/10

These two are great together in "The Sand Pebbles" as well, another favourite.

One of my favorite films, period. Steve McQueen got top billing because, well, he's Steve McQueen. And I like his character but you're right, its a great cast.

Fired up my Bluray of Last Samurai yesterday's Happy Hour.

Stunning visuals, great battle scenes.

Tom delivers.

Big Time Adolescence. Was decent, didn’t really like the ending though.

I definitely like this idea of tackling the (long!) classics right now.

Two GREAT movies. Gladiator has more rewatchability, but both are amazing.

I concur. Had not seen either on my big video unit.

And am now slumming with Cliffhanger. A funny DVD that was maybe one of the first 10 DVDs I owned.

The disc itself has a 4:9 side and a Widescreen side!

But it does have 5.1 sound.

When I first watched it DVD in the 90's I was stunned by the directional sound. I hate Stallone, but that is pretty decent.

And I'd forgotten the beginning where the gal drops.

My boss at the time rented it on my recommendation.

When the gal dropped the bosses wife says , "I'm outta here."

Pretty stupid movie, but that was a rather epic intro.

Parasite

Great movie

Agreed. I was all ready to be disappointed before I saw it, thinking maybe it got the Oscar due to PC pressures. But it was really good.
