Saw Frozen 2 on Disney+ last night with the family. Fell asleep repeatedly. It was a bad sequel.

So forced. The plot sucked, the songs were terrible. Olaf, had a few funny parts(I thought the Samantha bit was the funniest bit of either movie), but completely unwatchable aside from that.

And I liked the first one.

Same. I liked the first one. The songs in this one were pretty bad. Except for the 80's rock ballad the one guy sung. That one amused me.

I fell asleep enough I don't know that I really even know the full story.

We saw it in the theater, with the heathens.

My daughter was like 2 when the first one came out on dvd, and would watch it religiously. She was so smart and learned everything so easily...she was singing all the songs at barely 2. Special place in my heart for the first one. The second one should've been straight to dvd.

The art of racing in the rain

It's a dog movie. My kid was wanting to see it because it is a dog movie.

Halfway through I yelled this is so freaking depressing.

Loved the movie though.

Joker

Seriously lives up to the hype. Great film.
What I think is crazy is Robert De Niro is a major character and this movie reminds me of Taxi Driver. Not sure if this was intentional or not, but the fact that De Niro is in it almost feels like a wink to the viewer.

I've not seen it yet but from what I've seen it also reminds of another DeNiro film, The King of Comedy...

Joker - 4.5/5. Maybe would have been better if not on a plane.

Spenser Confidential - 3.5/5. Entertaining enough.

1917 5/5

Freaks 3/5 2018 film.
I watched this over the weekend. I had never heard of it, so I figured it was a new Netflix movie. Didn’t realize it was “older”.

decent enough movie. 6/10 is a fair rating...

You want to know what my absolute favorite movie is but everybody thinks it's terrible..

Well I'm going to tell you anyway

Anaconda

Jon Voight is a gem in it. The dead man's wink to J-Lo killed me the first time.

Is there a way to watch only his parts?

I haven't looked lately but at one time there definitely was, let me search.

I'm assuming you were referring to his "scenes" here?

I watched jumanji 3 last night. It was good however in the first 10 minutes the black character Fridge says "I need to quit hanging out with white people"

And of course Fridge got put into the game as Jack Black's. Where he would go on to say. " Last time at least I was still black"

I don't mind the comments as long as they go both ways however I have a feeling that if a white guy was to make those comments about a black person blacks would be madder than when Popeyes ran out of the chicken sandwich.

7/10

Get On Up. James Brown bio-pic. This one is really a mixed bag and it's mostly due to the lead Chadwick Boseman. He's spectacular at times (most of the performance pieces) and almost cartoonish at others.. he ages over several decades.

Part of that is not his fault. With some of Brown's hair styles, Boseman appears almost feminine at times and James Brown never gave off that vibe... anything but. The way it was put together is kind of messed up too.. especially the beginning. Odd director's decisions wrt jumping back & forth to different time periods. Definitely worth watching for the good parts, though. 6/10

Watched Knives Out last night. For hearing often how great this movie is, I found it rather meh. It started out great, but by the time it was about halfway thru I was kinda like just skip to the twist you know is coming at the end already.

Spenser Confidential - I'll agree with your assessment. Nothing great, but Iliza whatever makes me laugh and I enjoyed the Hawk character.

Never really felt like they might lose was probably the biggest weakness.

Did enjoy the Black Betty part because I forgot about her until right before it happened.
