Watched Terminator Dark Fate last night. Not as bad as I was expecting but still the worst of the six and that says something because I didn't like Genisys at all. 1.5/5

Boys From Brazil

Believe it or not, I had never seen this before. Movies used to be very different than they are today. The pacing is completely different.

interesting movie though. The kid who played the “boys” was eerily odd. He never acted again on film, but apparently had a long successful career on Broadway.

I understand the movie was made in the 70s, but the sound editing was amazingly bad. Every scene that took place outside had the same jet-engine background noise that completely took me out of the scene. I suspect that is just noticeable with today’s better speakers, but maybe a remastering would help this flick age...

That said, it was engrossing enough to keep me watching. 6.5/10

If you didn’t read the book it’s palatable. But what is ironic is the author took such a strong stance that he didn’t make Buck act like a human because he hated being called a ‘nature faker’. And in this film we see Buck show compassion, put others before himself, and even hug other dogs. It is not terrible, but as a fan of the book I was really disappointed with what they did to a classic.

The movie does a great job capturing the atmosphere of the game. A lot of great scenes.

The Upside. Kevin Hart can't act.. not drama anyway. Nicole Kidman is completely wasted. Hard to see why she even took the role. It was a too long and took a weird turn the last 15 minutes to wrap things up. Overall, I enjoyed it though. 7/10

I watched "First Man" last night. I was surprised at the dark tone of the movie. I thought it portrayed Neil Armstrong as a bit of a cold, heartless automaton and seemed to focus on the perceived negative aspects of the space race far more than I expected.

Being a techno geek, I was a bit disappointed that there was not much interest in highlighting the amazing advances in rocketry, telemetry and guidance that were happening in the 60's, but no big deal.

6.5, maybe 7/10

FORCE OF EXECUTION

Danny Trejo, Ving Rhames & Steven Seagal

These guys all played secondary roles to a new guy that Seagal must have been pushing.

Typical 'kill the shit out of everyone' Seagal movie but there were some good scenes.

The new gets his legs and hands introduced to a small sledge hammer.

Danny does a little voodoo on the new guy with two rare scorpions and a hammer and chisel.

Nothing extraordinary................5/10. If you're totally locked inside for the weekend 7.5/10

But it confirmed what I've know all along, I don't have a military gene in my body. War mongers are a different breed.

Not a movie but we have free HBO this weekend and I am watching season 1 of Westworld. Kind of interesting and Thandie Newton is one hot looking android. Not sure if she was actually nekkid in all the lab scenes, but if she was, I surprised those two techs didn't have constant hard ons.

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

if you go in understanding and expecting that this is not an award movie, genre shifting piece of art, you might come out with a few smiles.

It is basically Kevin Smith jerking off onto cellulose. If you love the Clerks-verse, you will be mildly entertained by this movie. If you are either not aware of the Clerks-verse, or you dislike it, skip this movie.

4/10 (but the BEST 4/10 movie ever made)

Saw Frozen 2 on Disney+ last night with the family. Fell asleep repeatedly. It was a bad sequel.
