Straight out of Compton...... If you grew up in the era and really didn't like rap music but knew about these guys it was pretty damn good.

8/10

Saw it in the theater with my son when it came out and a few days ago on HBO.

Kidding.

If I was among some high falutin' types I'd have to keep my love of "Turkish" movies on the down low....

But here with the bottom feeders I can admit it.

Wife and kid saw it. They liked it enough.

The preview of them rocking out to System of a Down is enough for me to see it.

So far my daughter hasn't spawned and seems unlikely to. My son likely never will given his "Situation".

So fortunately for me I won't have to rent this sort of movie for the grandchildren I'll probably never have and I was fortunate enough to miss this sort of thing as my kids were grown up.

I think I took them to the first Transformers movie. After that it was rentals for their movies and they had their own TV/VCR room.....

I think the big criticism of the movie mostly stems from the fact that the story was never really made for the movie format. If broken down entirely, the book could have been a 10 hour TV season with more actors and less makeup. I think a more traditional movie would've focused on just the Sonmi and After-Fall settings. The Sonmi story makes for the best sci fi while lots of the other parts are carried by the acting. Ultimately its a very sad movie about karma and reincarnation being put forth in the most optimistic way possible and yet still falling short of any ideal just due to the nature of inequality.

I'm glad I saw it once but its not something Id watch over and over again. In some ways the movie is quite brilliant in the fact that it can exist in the first place.
I watched it twice in less than a week. I absolutely love it. The Korean and post apocalyptic settings could have been made full feature films by themseves if they had expanded on it. I never read the book but to my understanding it was developed differently than the film. The film had six interweaving settings tangled throughout. The book told each setting one at a time. Comparing the presentation of the book vs the film is unfair as the audience is different. The film is able to maneuver scenes much easier than a novel.

I saw Batman vs Superman, the ultimate edition and liked it a lot. I read a while ago it sucked so wasn't excited when I bought it, but for me, it was a good movie....If you're into the Marvel type movies.

Saw Mortdecai.

Opening scene made me almost immediately regret my decision but the movie picks up and is genuinely pretty funny at times. The movie doesn't do anything all that risky other than having most of the dialogue done by one of Johnny Depp's weird characters who imo should normally be a side character to some degree. Other than that its a pretty straight forward British comedy* that could've come out of the 80s. Not something you'd want to spend money on but a good deal of cheap humor for those who know snobs.

C+

* not British humor but humor with British people.

Just finished watching Pihranaconda. Now we're on to Dinoshark.

That's right....It's Sharknato week. One of the worst things I've ever seen but continue to watch. It's so horrible, it makes me laugh. The best part, they know it, enbrace it and give us more.

Worst movie I have seen in years.

And it really isn't that close.

It actually, literally, angered me.

I saw this shit in the movie theater. So disappointed. A robot acting like an idiot 13-year-old. The car jacking scene made me laugh. The trailer totally misrepresented it's self.
