Finished my housework and laundry. Grabbed a cup of coffee and started going through the movies on TV. Got MAX and lo and behold an oldie classic......Road House.

Kelly Lynch on the roof...... Or just backed up against the wall.....

FINALLY watched The Matrix.
It was enjoyable, but I just could not take Keanu Reeves seriously as an intelligent person. The guy just has such a naturally goofy look and has been so good at playing morons in the past (I would even put his character in My Own Private Idaho in that slot).
The ending was also a bit clichéd and did not really satisfy me. Still worth watching.

The definitive Keenu Reeves

I did like the first Matrix a lot though. It was very new and different at the time. I fell asleep during the second one. The Third was pretty terrible.

No Country for Old Men- very good movie, just very vauge. I enjoyed it although I feel like on one watch I missed a lot of important things. To me a similar feel to the movie Driver, very few lines but every nit of dialouge is that much more important due to the silences in the film. Recommend a watch if you can deal with movies that you are not 100 percent sure on what the underlying themes are after one watch. Not a surface level movie for sure.

Watched "Welcome To Leith" last night on Netflix, intended to just start it as I drifted off to sleep and it interested me enough to keep me awake.
In a nutshell, white supremacists plan to move to a tiny town in North Dakota (24 residents) and eventually take over its government. The Southern Poverty Law Center alerts the residents and things get unpleasant in a hurry.
One great thing about this documentary is that it seems like all the major players (including neo-Nazi Craig Cobb) agreed to be interviewed on camera and generally seem to be pretty open about things. Even cell camera footage from the wife of a follower of Cobb's is used.
The white supremacists are openly loathesome, but the townsfolk don't really come out looking too great, either. I felt the filmmakers did a great job at presenting an unbiased view of the situation. I imagine that I would have done the same kinds of things as the bulk of the residents of Leith in the face of a similar "invasion", even though many of their actions were of dubious legality. It gets muddy if you try to look at it as only good and bad guys.

Ashby.

Not bad, if you're willing to overlook the football part of the movie.

Civil War- always skeptical going into Marvel movies but this one was great. I still give the edge to Winter Soldier as being the best Marvel film but to me this one was solid. Spiderman stole the show, can't wait for his next movie. They did a fantastic job of Spidy jumping in on the action without dedicating 30 minutes to his story. If you are a Marvel fan (I'm not completely) there is very little reason you wouldn't enjoy this.

Been traveling a lot lately, so caught up on a plane with two I really wanted to see but kept putting off...

American Sniper and the Revenant. Both were amazing, really enjoyed the leads in both of them. Never was a fan of Decrappio early in his career, don't like his personal politics, but he's really a great actor of late.

Also saw Civil War the other day. Really really good movie, I liked how they introduced their new characters, and gave everyone some good screen time and lines. Antman was great too. Lots of fun and they showed how to have a serious yet fun superhero fight.

Creed.

Really liked it. Stallone was great. Excellent job re-capturing that energy and emotion of the originals.
