Cobain - Montage of Heck

I'll admit to missing out on Nirvana when they were happening. But I was searching for new driving tunes in our CD rack and noticed 3 CDs of my son's.

Decided I quite like Nirvana.

And this movie was interesting and depressing all at once....

I thought the animation was cool, but TBH, and I know I'm biased, but I like Soaked in Bleach allot more. I know it's speculative, but I found it way more interesting.

Like I said, I'm a Johnny come Lately to the whole Nirvana thing.

So Soaked In Bleach is now on my "Keep My Eyes Open For It" list.

Thanks for the tip.

I saw a TV version of it, and that always bothers me. I went into it expecting an absolute shit-show, and I was not disappointed. An old medical chopper doing a corkscrew then performing a cold start mid air with the props completely stopped and still is able to gain lift from the air. Then a cargo plain is able to do a corkscrew while carrying a tank in the cargo-hold. Then they "fly" said tank.

All that said, I was expecting it to be super-stupid, so I was able to get past all that and actually be somewhat entertained while watching.

Watched Terminator Salvation last night. Not as bad as I remembered it being but still the fourth best out of the five Terminator movies, with Genisys being the worst.
Tonight I'm going to watch Field of Dreams because surprisingly, I've never gotten around to watching it.

Crimson Peak

Pretty bummed how this turned out. I'm a huge fan of Guillermo Del Toro but this movie fell short of expectations. It was more of a tragic love story with some murder mystery sprinkled in than it was horror. Not scary at all. Maybe that was my fault, but regardless I didn't care for it.

Jurassic World

Sucked bawls. Opie's daughter was just terrible and it was painfully obvious that the actors were not truly terrified, aka, acting against a green screen.

Even Pratt was dull and lifeless??

They made Jeff Goldblum look like Daniel Day Lewis or some shit?

This made me laugh.
Have not seen it but sums up pretty well what I'm thinking about it.

Movies I've seen in the past couple of weeks

Sicario (8.5/10)
- An intense thriller that grabs your attention and keeps you on the edge of your seat from the opening scene all the way to the end. Benicio Del Toro is a bad ass in this film. Emily Blunt gives a good performance as well. Great cast also includes Josh Brolin and Jon Bernthal.

The Martian (9.5/10)
- My favorite film of the year thus far. It blends a good balance of humor and cool science concepts led by a charismatic performance from Matt Damon. Got a chance to see this at Seattle's Cinerama (96 ft screen) and the visuals were top notch.

Steve Jobs (8/10)
- Fassbender's performance alone is almost worth the price of admission.

Black Mass (7.5/10)
- It's refreshing to see Depp rejuvenated and committed to a role such as this one. Easily one of his best roles in a long time.

Rewatched

Donnie Brasco (9/10)
- It's your standard gritty crime drama but at the heart of the film it is a compelling character study. Depp's performance allows you to see how unnerving it is to be in his shoes as an undercover FBI agent. One of my favorite scenes in the film was when the crew (Pacino, Madsen, Depp, etc) went to this Japanese restaurant. Because of tradition everyone at the restaurant must take off their shoes. Depp's character was wearing a wire at the time so he refused to take his shoes off and had to improvise on the spot without looking suspicious. Depp's reasoning eventually convinced Michael Madsen's character (the skipper) to back him and ultimately the crew beat the waiter nearly to death for forcing that rule on them. Donnie Brasco is a very underrated film with some great performances.

Watched Less Than Zero for about the 10th time last night.

Love me some Jaime Gertz

I don't think I've seen that movie but count me in on Jaime. She has always been a hottie. At age 49, she looks great

We're talking the one with Liam Neeson right? Did you see the local big boy? The Marin Mars?

I see that puppy (or used to see anyway cause they sold it to I believe China) flying over my house regularly.

Watched a portion of a movie last night ironically titled Last Night. I had to go to bed but it seemed to have a little potential. Eva Mendez and the girl from Pirates of Carribean were in it.

Against All Odds (1984)

MV5BMTAyNjQ3MzI3MDFeQTJeQWpwZ15BbWU3MDAwMDIwMzE@._V1_SY317_CR3,0,214,317_AL_.jpg

This movie had its moments. Some laugh out loud wtf were they thinking all the way to holy shit what a twist!!

It's a football movie, sorta and a suspense, back stabbing, gambling, cheating, murder just lol over the top but it was fascinating in a weird way, I couldn't turn away. All star cast with Jeff Bridges (The QB) and James Woods (Bookie/nightclub owner/gangsta) headline it with Rachel Ward as the spoiled little rich bitch who is fucking everybody, she is the professional football team owners daughter, who btw....
...murders two people in this movie.
LoL....
