The Last Movie You Watched (no spoilers)

I want to see Sicario, heard Del Toro was beyond good.

As far as Black Mass is concerned, it's very close to what actually happened. If you're not from the Boston area, it might appear to be disjointed. The whole underlying plot is that the FBI actually gave James "Whitey" Bulger permission to kill the Providence Mafia guys and walk away. Problem was that Bulger killed 13 other civilians and walked away. When the top FBI brass found out, Bulger disappeared for almost 15 years making him #1 on the most wanted list.

Black Mass was very good. It didn't seem disjointed.

Depp was great. So was Edgerton, though I wanted to knock his characters teeth out. The problem with that relationship was that neither of them had the ability to be low key and take advantage of their opportunity long term. They were both just looking to be superstars, Bulger on the streets and Connolly in the FBI.

I watched this last night. I was thoroughly disappointed. It was the first Depp movie in the last decade that I was excited to go see. While very close to what actually took place during Bulger's reign of terror, the movie just fell flat. Depp & Edgerton were spot on, but Cumberbatch felt miscast. The movie was too slow paced & left too much off the screen. It was just 3 acts over 3 decades of scenes jumping from one Bulger kill to the next..

It is what it is, but I was expecting a lot more.

Great movie.....!.......It's one of those movies you can watch over and over again,.....I've seen it about 6-times.

Watched it online for free. Definitely wasn't what I was expecting. I'm With Davis_Mike in that it fell flat. The acting was good, which you would expect. But overall the movie is pretty boring.

The Green Inferno

If you're not a fan of Eli Roth films already, this film won't win you over, but if you love the brutality of his work, this movie is a perfectly serviceable horror film. I don't think this was his best work. But I wasn't disappointed. This movie is definitely not for the weak-stomached. The plot in itself is VERY predictable, but the progression is fast paced. I think the casting could have been done better. But all things considered they didn't ruin the movie. Pretty epic story nonetheless.

Finally got around to watching it.
Good war movie. Did a good job of showing what he went thru.
Don't get why people thought it should have won an Academy Award.
Got a little boring in parts. It could have been 20 minutes shorter.

Good story/acting/directing/etc.
Had a good pace to it.
My buddy liked it better than I did.
Won't get into it since it just came out.

Tomorrowland D+

Awful movie that seems like it was designed by a bunch of people in a board room somewhere and not written by writers. Devoid of acting and action, the whole premise of the movie is based on capitalism being too flawed to create needed innovation but also tries to analyze human nature in a way to make everyone feel guilty except without any payoff. The cliche female tech-genius "chosen one" teenager was bad enough but all action scenes just existed to push a plot that was poorly conceived. The robots searching for humans in the end was also totally nonsensical because it makes the assumption that AI will lack creativity.

I'll admit to missing out on Nirvana when they were happening. But I was searching for new driving tunes in our CD rack and noticed 3 CDs of my son's.

Decided I quite like Nirvana.

And this movie was interesting and depressing all at once....

I really enjoyed the movie. A lot of sarcastic humor coming from Damon's character. The movie wasn't too long & probably consists about 60% of the time just having Damon narrating to his journal while trying to survive alone on mars.

Gone Girl - 3/10

Boring as fuck for me. I wanted to punch the ****.

Bit of a movie bender the past week...

A Clockwork Orange- damn a game changer for sure

Fight Club- first half is good and then the mindfuck at the end is just stupid

Trainspotting- I enjoyed it although I blacked out for the middle portion

High Fidelity- again I blacked out after 40min but it didn't seem that good

Silver Linings Playbook-- wow, surprised the shit out of me I really enjoyed it

Machinist- same thing as Fight Club, I was enjoying it for the first half then it just got stupid
