Good re-signing since the Lakers missed on Edey. Dude is developing into a decent Center. He may see more playing time this season.

Probably not.

Probably more time in the G-League and Redick tries to develop him so maybe in 2025-26 he gets a consistent roster spot.

Maybe.

People wanted Vitti gone towards the end too because of injuries. Injuries happen.
Except, with our players....

Kendrick Nunn and Gabe Vincent were guys we signed and they suddenly have knee injuries.....need better trainers to do physicals on these guys.

Well, the Cowboys haven't had a Championship in how long?

The Lakers just got one a few years ago.
I'm talking present day. The title a few years ago was the Covid year, I'll give that one an asterisk.

What would you have them do? They have a full roster of 15 players currently (mistake by Rob of giving out player options to league min contracts aside). They tried to get Klay and Demar, they signed elsewhere (Demar for too much, Klay for less). Valanciunas came off the board too quickly for the Lakers to be a factor, since they were always going to pursue Klay first. Lakers need trades, and trade season has been slow to get going with FA open. Bad trades are worse than no trades, and teams like Portland are asking too much for the Lakers' targets. I'm glad they didn't try to compete with the Kings for Demar, that's too much for someone who is a questionable fit (spacing the floor weakness).

I agree that the front office is lacking, but I don't think the inactivity of the past week is on them at this point.
Rob has to offload some contracts like say JHS and Reddish, maybe a 3rd one too.....probably including a couple 2nd rounders to teams that have salary cap space that can just absorb them and not send anybody back. Then sign say Trent Jr with the MLE and Tyus Jones on a vet minimum deal since the market for him has dried up, He could reinvent himself like Monk if we trade Russell and some guys at the deadline for that #3 guy who may be ready to be traded at the deadline when his team is not performing up to his standards. When Russell gets dealt start Jones at PG.

Gotta love the haters.
Not a hater, been a Laker for for 50+ years. Just don't like the way LeBron, errrr the Buss's run the organization. Time for the Lakers to move on IMO.

Yes.

Heating up the oven since it is almost dinner time. Baked zitti with garlic bread. And sipping on a 24 oz Michelob Ultra.
Enjoy the Ziti, made run to Wing Stop.

I believe the Lakers have found themselves a nice diamond. Dude is playing very well. I don't give a shit why the author has to use Bronny as the comparison standard. Bronny is a G-leaguer for now. This Brinson fella is a def keeper and he was undrafted.

Any takers?? I think not. Pelinka ain't making any more trades or bringing in any more players. Not this summer anyways.

An article was released last week indicating that the GM for the TrailBlazers is deliberately putting up roadblocks for the Lakers in their quest to trade for Jeremi Grant. The author describes how they continually demand way high compensation such as two number ones and a second for Grant when everyone league-wide knows Grant is not worth that sort of compensation level.

Any offer by Pelinka is immediately put on hold. The gist of the article was that the rest of the league and the new CBA is geared to remove teams like the Lakers and Celtics who dominate Championship banners in favor of a more even distribution of Championships. So there exists a sort of negative collusion against the Lakers whenever they want to improve themselves. It is something the Lakers can't fight now.

Why ask the question, "what would you have them do", Shopson when I already provided the answer in the first sentence of my post. Sell the franchise to somebody who knows how to overcome the present adversity against the Lakers which is quite evident in this offseason trade period.

Selling the franchise isn't going to change the fact that the Blazers have never traded with the Lakers and they wear that as a badge of honor. It's a Lakers thing, not a Rob/Jeanie thing.

Lakers need to focus on deals with the Nets and Jazz (cheaper salary-wise that can net multiple pieces for the same amount of outgoing players), some mix of Thomas, DFS, Sharpe, Sexton, Kessler, etc. Otherwise, send some seconds to drop a couple of small contracts and add a TPMLE player like GTJ and wait until the right deal comes along, even if that's at the deadline.

Now all the rage is Walker Kessler to satisfy an AD request. Seriously? The only player worthy going after on this article's list is GTJ and the Lakers can't do anything until they move some lesser contracts.

Right now, that is not happening BECAUSE, nobody wants these players we have!! Ya can't just magically move contracts unless there is a buyer and there are none. So all this wishful thinking, that apparently alleviates summer boredom, is just a waste of time and energy.

No point in paying to offload contracts until the space is needed (especially with JHS). Other trades likely come first, which could also open roster spots and/or cap space.

Tyus for a vet min is a pipe dream though. Washington is working with him on finding a S&T. He likely gets more than the Lakers can afford (or are willing to trade for).

So many Laker fans and pundits think AD needs to go back to PF full time, citing 2020. Of course, they forget that AD played C in crunch time in 2020 and especially in the playoffs. Sure, he started games at PF, but he finished at C.

I am all for adding a strong center (Wood and Hayes don't provide much resistance physically in the paint), but ideally that player would be able to space the floor a bit to enable him to play WITH AD, and not just back up AD. I'm not sure Kessler can play with AD, and he'd be an expensive (in draft capital terms) backup if that's the end result. Center has dried up quickly unfortunately. Maybe the recently dumped Yurtseven could be a cheaper option...

Saw the Jones sign and trade after posting that comment which was on Monday.
