What happens if we have a 3 way tie?
That's not his fWAR. I don't know how much bWAR is worth. Either way, I am not that down on him. He can do better, but I love him.
Oh okay. I don't know which metric they used for OWAR on ESPN. I think if he's overpaid it's not by that much. That's what I get for using ESPN, I usually go straight to Fangraphs for my info, but I was lazy this time
2.5 WAR, 11.25 million, so still pretty close
JTA's numbers are right ... and $4.5mil per 1.0WAR is actually getting a little dated.

FWIW fangraphs has his value this year at 12.3 MM before the game.Yeah I've read its changed but I just went with the old conservative number
I read somewhere that supposedly TB plays in Cleveland to settle WC #1 and the loser of that game travels to Texas to decide WC #2

There is a value button for all players. It lists their worth in dollars. If you go to Kinsler's page there will be a value button at the far right.I trust Fangraphs more than most sites, especially ESPN, Baseball Reference has its uses, but when it comes to saber numbers, Fangraphs all the way
Did you come up with the 12.3 number or did you see that somewhere?

Gentry has been so big for the Rangers. He is underrated, but not in my heart. I love that dude.Awesome, never seen that before
FWIW Gentry's value this year was 14.1 million dollars, 12.7 last year and 7.4 the year before
Truthfully, I'm fine with Ian just the way he is if he was batting 3rd or 5th or 6th which is where I think he belongs. To me he never has been an ideal leadoff guy.

Yeah it's a fun grouping of numbers. They have the updated numbers for how much WAR is worth. It's pretty nifty.
He plays superb defense and is one of the best base runners I've ever seen. He's the perfect platoon player. He will put up great production for what he's asked to do. Every team needs a Craig Gentry. He's been one of my favorite Rangers since 3 years ago
I used to make this statement frequently 3 years ago, " gentry's on base, I bet he steals 2B" I won that bet more often than not

Yes. There would be a play in game for the WC game.So we would have to earn a wildcard ?
lol after the game CJ complained about the balls when asked about it.
Well that definitely puts us at the disadvantage. I'm assuming its because we have the worst combined head-to-head record?I read somewhere that supposedly TB plays in Cleveland to settle WC #1 and the loser of that game travels to Texas to decide WC #2
