They wouldn't give him the prerequisite GTD% for the same reason the Steelers (and Bengals; which would never ever happen) wouldn't.

at some point the Steelers are gonna take the best draft pick offer (or whatever) While they can get something for him. If they wait till week 10 then they wont get anything for him & he will still go to the jets, because they are the team that needs him & has the money to pay him. (& willing too)
So might as well get the draft pick/player/something for him while you can.
The jets has always made the most sense to me.

Gonna take more than the 3rd round compensation they'll get for losing him in free agency. Just to establish a starting point....

I would not give more than a 6th for Bell and it has nothing to do with talent. He is a UFA at the end of this season with a tag hit so high no team would be dumbe enough use it on him. Bottom line is that Bell is a rent til the end of the season type player.

Not sure what the Jets are thinking. Getting Bell does not make them SB contenders.
