It was a shitty call. No doubt about. Fucking eject the kid for a questionable fucking call based on a questionable fucking rule to end his college career. This rule has to be changed. It's shitty in every way, shape, and form.

100% the right call, and a rule I can actually agree with.

What is sad is that fans have become accustomed to these "knockout" hits as being a part of the game.

Ask yourself a simple question. If the Miami player was not wearing a helmet, would he be making the tackle in the fashion that he did?

Players and fans have become so accustomed to players utilizing their helmets as a weapon, that they simply no longer understand or realize proper tackling technique. It is more about the highlight reel hit and a guy getting "lit up" that is more important to the fan nowadays as opposed to watching quality football.

No, it was a bad call. He did NOT deliver a "knock out" hit. He made a good tackle and got fucking ejected for it. It's football, played by grown men. Not some school yard game for pansies.

And asking if he'd tackle the same way if he didn't have a helmet on is pointless. The players are padded and protected for a reason. The guy did NOT use his helmet as a weapon. He made a tackle. The receiver jumped to make a catch and he went and made the tackle. There's no way you are going to control every dynamic involved to make some "text book" fucking tackle. And that was a "quality tackle."

You will start seeing a lot of knees getting blown out because of this garbage rule and calls like this. But hey, at least they aren't getting hit on the helmet.
