You haven't even seen the ratings yet...it's entirely possible this bowl bombed.
Going head to head against Notre Dame, very possible.

Rules would be good for P5 teams too. Of course, if it is too much to cater to G5 teams by providing rules for making the playoffs, why not simply split the division after all? Why keep them around just to get to 7-8 home games, count these games towards which P5 teams make the playoffs and pretend P5 vs G5 games have any credibility?

I'm significantly happier to watch Penn State face a pretty damn good Memphis team with only one loss than watch them face a completely garbage Virginia team who is only in because evidently someone from the ACC had to go. Memphis at least had a couple of good wins on their resume.
There’s no rules for P5 teams and you want rules for G5 teams? So don't give them any rules and claim they would whine anyway if you did?
I don't care how many fans or money anyone has.........You have to start with a fair system and allow everyone to succeed or fail on those grounds first.
Certainly a better win than anyone Virginia beat this year, yes.Are we sticking with the narrative that Cincy is a good win?
Memphis also beat Navy and SMU. And how is Cincy not a good win? The only other team Cincy lost to was tOSU.
Again, with the Memphis loss, the G5 is 3-3 in the NY6. Penn St is a good football team. Memphis had over 500 yds in total offense against a B1G team that averaged 303 yds in total defense. It was a one score game halfway through the 4th quarter. I don't get that anyone doesn't think it was a good football game.
Penn State-Alabama definitely. Utah would get curbed.Penn State-Alabama or Penn State-Utah would have had much more appeal.
Are you just going to ignore the fact that you got called out on your BS about better attendance at Memphis games than Utah?
Okay, Memphis only averaged 39,000 to Utah's 46,000. How does Utah report? Tickets sold or butts in the seats?
Memphis did set a G5 record for attendance this year, and I made a bad assumption. My bad.
There’s no rules for P5 teams and you want rules for G5 teams?
maybe schedule a good out of conference schedule and win all your games but no G5 team has done that yet.
I want rules for all FBS teams. And simply saying schedule good out of conference still does nothing to spell out what is good enough.
Virginia also has no business earning a bid.The game featuring the G5 team in the NY6 really loses its appeal when the G5 team isn't undefeated.
I think they need to add a qualifier to the rule.
If there are no undefeated G5 teams, there is no automatic bid.
Penn State-Alabama or Penn State-Utah would have had much more appeal.
Penn State just won the Cotton Bowl and my opinion of them changed zero.
