I was thinking today about adages for the usually worthless 4th NFL preseason game, like "last chance to make a impression" and "play themselves onto the team". Never have really seen either happen that I can remember in 55 years of watching the NFL, but last night I think I watched Rawls and Daniels do both.

Guess the Seahawks know something about McCray that the general public doesn't. Perhaps someone Carrol recruited in college? Seems like they over paid for him to me. For sure rather see Kam come back and this guy be depth.

I notice Jesse Williams was put on the "reserve/non-football illness list", will he receive financial benefit for his illness? I sure hope so. I've heard him talk a few times on radio and seems to be a class act.

The only stories I saw said the team and Jackson agreed to a deal, not that it's been signed. Guessing, like someone else offered, that when he finally is signed here shortly, one of the RBs who made the final 53 will be gone.

Nah, not a chance. The production and longevity have to go hand in hand. Fred Jackson is in no way, shape for form a HOFer. That's probably an opinion I wouldn't go around sharing in public.

I wonder if they're holding off officially signing Fred until they find a suitor willing to trade for Christian Michaels... They could be close with a team involving a trade for Christian Michaels.... If he gets traded, it would open up a roster spot for Jackson...

Could be....but while we're waiting for that to happen, someone else could swoop in and sign Jackson.
I'm hoping it's more like we're working the numbers to fit with whatever small bone we're throwing Kam to convince him to end the charade and re-join his teammates so we can get on with the march to SB50.

Other cuts around the league I thought were interesting:
Mason Foster. I know we are stacked at LB, but wasn't he really good recently? Hasn't even been in the league that long, former Husky.
John Moffitt. Not that I want him back, just thought it was interesting on two fronts: 1) that he came back to football after that weird "retirement" and 2) he couldnt make an NFL team.
WR Colin Lockett. C'mon, wouldn't it be fun to have 3 guys at one position with basically the same last name?
