its being reported that WR Norwood has been released.

Kind of a bummer, I had high hopes for that kid.

He had 9 targets with 2 catches. Not good.

4th round WRs are definitely a problem for this year.

Kind of surprised to hear this. 4th round pick who they ( Seahawks) seemed to really like and due to injury didn't really get much of chance to show what he could do. Hope they can put him on the practice squad.

Looks like Norwood was traded to Carolina not cut.

Makes sense for both parties involved in the trade... We're getting something for someone that was probably going to be cut and the Panthers are getting some much needed help at the receiver position...

Now the Hawks need to trade Christian Michaels and pick up Fred Jackson off the WW if he clears...

Shows how deep we are on the DL w/ Scruggs already getting cut in the first round of cuts...

These two really surprise me.

Lemuel Jeanpierre was looking very likely to be the starting center after Max Unger was traded. Very surprising to see that Drew Nowak, a former UDFA with zero NFL experience won the starting job.

Greg Scruggs really showed promise at times and looked similar to a Michael Bennett type player for the Seahawks.

I'm also surprised the Seahawks got rid of Norwood, a former 4th round draft pick. It's even more surprising that B.J. Daniels, Kevin Smith and Kasen Williams all got the nod ahead of him. Before he went injured, I had heard the coaching staff was really impressed with his route running ability.

D'Anthony Smith seems to be a slight surprise as well, a former 3rd rounder who had been working with the 2nd string defense.

A bit of a shocker on Jeanpierre and Scruggs cut. Equally bummed about Norwood. I guess they needed something in return so that was Norwood's value... a trade, considering there are quite a few guys on WR that's probably going to get cut.

Most likely a 7th round pick with the possibility based on playing time maybe moving up to a 6th round pick.

Panthers troll here. Don't know anything about Norwood. I believe I heard he had 9 receptions last year. Was he injured or could he not get playing time.
If he is decent this could work out for him.
Thanks for any info.

Got hurt early on . Has potential , hate to see him moved this early. One of those players that may or may not be NFL material . Really never got the chance here due to his injury. Wish him luck.

Part of it was that he was buried on the depth chart, but he also started last year hurt. He didn't play until week 6 and also missed weeks 15-16. He did have some good catches during those 9 opportunities, but with our top 4 receivers returning (Richardson is PUP, but should be back this year), Matthews coming out in the SB & Lockett showing a lot of promise - it just didn't look like he was looking at a lot of playing time, even if he made the team.
