no money changed hands. sox were fortunate to escape with no more harm and pollock in a contract year may be very beneficial.

Greetings from St. Augustine, North America's oldest city. Arrived a short while ago and happily learned that Hahn finally ditched Kimbrel for AJ Pollock. Under the circumstances, I suppose this is about as good as we could have realistically hoped for. As pod said, AJ has a bit of trouble staying healthy, but he brings a decent stick along with some pop. Not as sure about his D one way or the other. Anyone have the skinny on his OF skills?

i don't know what i was looking at! you're right, he looks pretty good.

I'm getting used to the idea of AJ Pollock. Probably because we have since found out that Pollock hits righties as well as lefties. He is a plus defender - and can play all three OF positions. In 117 games last year in had zero fielding errors. As long as Engel - Pollock and Vaughn don't get injured at the same time - someone will be in RF who can be a plus to the lineup. Also - Pollock has a one or two year max to his services so - he is very convenient for Cespedes or Colas to be ready to take over.

I'm still hoping for a backup catcher who doesn't waive at a dozen pitches a game bouncing by him.

Nothing that significantly clarifies the matter, but just the overall sound of it tells me that the BEST case scenario will be Lynn missing a start or two when the season kicks off. None of us obviously want the worst case scenario.
