The Broncos defense is sick of their garbage offense

Humm interesting. I feel like they're a lot more explosive on offense and far more dangerous on D as it pertains to big playability. I think Kansas City has had the issue in past playoffs of simply not being able to make big plays which has meant they've needed to play almost flawlessly. I think this year's team can overcome mistakes because they've got the ability to make huge ones to overcome them
Its a bit tricky because the Chiefs weren't fully healthy at the end of last year and haven't been fully healthy at all this year.

My general thought is that the Chiefs were a little bit better last year.

I'm taking all this with skepticism and the knowledge you guys would likely be less grouchy today if you hadn't blown a 14 point home lead yesterday... lol.

Chiefs offense is less efficient than it was last year, though, so the game is a microcosm of the Chiefs issues.

Alex Smith went from 7.6YPA to 7.0YPA and is throwing more while getting less out of it. Alex Smith also went from rushing for 5.3 yards per attempt to 2.9 yards per attempt. He just isnt playing as well.

Losing Manning is just hard to replace, the guy's leadership was top notch.... it wasn't about Manning's arm strength and big numbers, it was about his leadership and timely smart play's that led the Broncos...Even with a good defense you need leadership at the QB spot ... It's hard to replace a hall of fame QB like Manning...

Like you said...tough to make a firm judgement due to the teams not being fully intact, but with what they had to work with, imo the DEF was better LY (particularly run DEF) and the OFC is a little better this yr...even w/o Charles.

Bronco's OL is crap... if they can fix that next year, they'll be a serious contender.

I agree with everything you've said here and it's still funny to think of all the BS bronco fans spin about his value to their championship this past summer.

He is literally the only reason the Panthers had any shot at winning the SB last season

Don't dis-agree with the leadership part, but he was pretty damn dreadful in that postseason last year

He played a good half against the Patriots, made a couple of nice plays against the Steelers, and had one decent drive against the Panthers. So in 3 games he played well for approximately 3 quarters.

Agreed, and his turnovers against Carolina were the only chance the Panthers had in what was otherwise a totally dominant game

^^^^This
Add in his ability to read defenses, change protection and audible seperates him from most.

Actually he wasn't ... That's the thing, it's not always about big numbers in the passing stats, it's about timely big key play's that he made, limiting mistakes, and making the people around you believe... Another thing Manning did vs the Panthers that was huge, was start off the game giving the Broncos momentum, the first drive of the game was BIG TIME even though it was just a field goal, it set the tone.. and it was the first time the Panthers had started off in a hole for that playoff run ...

Romo is not Manning, not even close. Before he got that oline in Dallas he was known to lose worse than Manning and he's not been good against tough defenses which will be his issue in that division if he goes there.

Further, Denver should have known this was gonna happen without Manning. They thought their offense was entitled? What were they before 2012?

Not sure what you mean by "entitled"? None of us thought the offense was going to be great by any means. We figured at best we could hope for an average offense this year and paired with this defense that could maybe be enough for a possible playoff run. Not like the Broncos offense was anything special last year. And well they haven't been anything special again this year. Unfortunately for the Broncos they are just not winning those close games at the rate they were last year which is where you are seeing some of the fall off for the team overall.
