Watching John Brockington running back of the Packers (71-77) when he was slowed down late in his career..... he was so slow I did not think he was very good, but my dad always said he was a good back early in his career.

My dad, uncles and grandparents talking about the Lombardi Packers and the glory years.

Terdell Middleton rushing for over 1k yards for Packers in 1978... my brother and I had started collecting football cards 2 years earlier and I loved the 1977 Topps cards with the 1k rusher designation and looked forward to Terdell's card like that in 79... but they no longer did that design again.

Hometown hero Rocky Blier and getting his 1977 football card on Halloween Night (gift from mom after trick or treating) with 1k emblem.

Late 70's early 80s Bills games without much hope of winning lol. One specific memory was going to a Bills game (vs Steelers?) in snowmobile suits on a brutally cold and snowy day and sitting in the upper deck when my brother and I were pretty young.

Speaking of memories, remember when Pats' fans were all over this board? I guess we know who the real Pats' fans are, the dudes that are still here and talking the same mad smack as usual.

I can vaguely recall the 1966 NFL Championship game (I do remember Dave Robinson forcing Don Meredith into a bad throw that Tom Brown intercepted pretty well). I vividly remember the ’67 Championship game - any Cowboy fan (and Packer fan for that matter) who was old enough to have a clue remembers that one.

And for the record - I remember the Heidi Bowl very well. Lived in CA so we didn’t get preempted and saw the entire thing (one of the craziest endings ever). It was the next day before I heard about the interruption on the East Coast.

We never used to have the NFL regular season up here. But we did get the championship games. And the first one I saw was the Ice bowl.

It's probably Staubach's Cowboys if I am being honest. I was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the mainland around 1979. College football interestingly had caught on on the island when I lived there, but NFL was still nascent and most people were predictably Dolphins or Cowboys fans given the era and proximity to Texas and Florida.

But then I moved to Pennsylvania when I was nine years old, at the height of the Chuck Knoll Pittsburgh Steelers dynasty.

What's funny is that I remember as a little kid in Philly, being new to Pennsylvania, first seeing all this black and gold everywhere, terrible towels etc.--and wondering, why are all these people wearing these ugly-ass colors?

I figured it out pretty quickly once I saw them play.

Pats team board is one of the most active in this forum. Several fans have been posting almost daily during the off season. We’ll be back here in general board when the season starts.

The first game I have a specific memory of is Super Bowl III. I was 10 years old. I remember Unitas coming in the game, and asking my Dad why they were going for it 4th and 10 from their own 20.

Eagles (12-4) beating the Cowboys (12-4) 20-7 in the 1980 NFC Championship. Dallas had to wear the blue jerseys so you knew they weren't winning. :D
Raiders (11-5) would defeat the Eagles 27-10 in Super Bowl XV. That was also the season every AFC playoff team was 11-5. How crazy is that?

Listening to Christian Okoye running the Seahawks defense over when I was working with my dad on whatever site when I was between 5 and 8 (I think we must have played the Chiefs 6 times every year, cause I swear I have about a dozen separate recollections of hearing that shit happen while my dad was ruining my young childhood weekends with work instead of just letting me be a kid)

Edit: looked at some game logs, must have just been those 2 games when I was 9, cause none of the others stand out

When I was little, my dad never really was into football or sports so I never watched it. Then my mom got married to my stepfather who was a huge Los Angeles Rams fan. I remember 1979 him following the Rams on TV, while wearing their jersey every game and obviously I got interested just so I can hang out with him. I remember the Rams beating Tampa Bay 9-0 in a defensive battle in the NFC championship game and thought, wow this is pretty cool. Especially because the Rams had a guy named Jack Youngblood who thought I was a cool name and fit the Bill of that tough defense. I remember he had blood all over him and it was pretty cool to me. That’s when I got into football and then watching the Rams play the Steelers in the Super Bowl that year I became a Steelers fan.

Then in 1982 I was watching the Steelers thump the Seahawks with my grandpa at his house and he got all bent out of shape because he stated that I should be supporting our local teams. So from then on, I am a huge Seahawk, mariner, Sonics, wsu Cougs, Gonzaga fan.
