Has he been actively working out/trying to sign with teams, to your knowledge? I just dont understand how this guy hasnt inked a deal especially for a team with playoff aspirations.....Shit id love for the Giants to add him to a questionable backfield
Not to my knowledge. I haven't heard anything about him visiting with other teams. Not sure what the hangup is. He is clearly adamant about returning for another season or 2. He made no indications of retiring. But now that teams aren't showing any interest he is going to see how the wrestling gig plays out for him. However he did say that he only wants to play for a Super Bowl contender. Maybe there are teams that have called but he declined.

Earl Thomas can eventually overtake Easley, if he hasnt already

I disagree with that. As good as Thomas is, Easley is one of the more underrated players in history. He had the coverage skills/range of Thomas, if not better, and was a harder hitter than Kam Chancellor. A freak-type player...very, very similar to Ronnie Lott.

That's fair, maybe I'm not remembering Easley correctly. Just thinking Thomas is on a really great career path at the position right now

Cant argue with your Lions picks too much. Lebeau might be a bit high as just a player. Night train Lane probably would have been better. I think I would have taken Joe Schmidt over both of them though. Not too many defensive players are the MVP of the League. I think only 4 in 60 years.

Other close ones:
Yale Lary
Doak Walker
Jason Hanson
Jack Christiansen

I was coming in here to say Schmidt should be there. I think Night Train should be on the Cardinals. He spent equal years for both, but his better years came with the cardinals.

Personally I don't think Layne belongs, he is remembered for his mouth more than his play.

Sanders, Schmidt, Lem Barney, and Lebeau would be mine.

Thomas most certainly is enjoying a great career. I just believe Easley was a really special player whose downfall was a career shut down early. He was almost right there with Ronnie Lott IMO.

If we're focusing on football accomplishments only, OJ >>> Thurman Thomas.

I know it's players only, but the Bears should get an exemption and the mountain should include Halas.

Halas played with the Bears early on like Lambeau for the Packers. He played end and was named to NFL all decade team... so you can include him as a player :suds:

Halas even held an NFL record (as player) until 1972 for longest fumble return (98 yards).

Love Randy White but there can only be 4

Renfro made 10 consecutive Pro Bowls when they meant something and was a 5 time All Pro
Randy White was named Manster becaues he was both a man and a monster.
Add in 9 1st team All Pros.
Mel's great, but we'll have to disagree.:suds:

And Halas should still have that record. When the record was "broken," it was a blown call and shouldn't have counted. I remember the game well.

I dont usually comment on others teams but for the Raiders I would put Ray Guy ahead of Tim Brown.
