i don't really care if they play college football. in fact, it would probably be better for me because the NFL may play some of their games on Saturdays in that case.

NBA and MLB (despite the Marlins fucking things up as usual) have shown team sports can be played safely

It doesn't mean they are safer than at home bc that just isn't true. You can't actually believe that. The NBA is doing everything right it seems...and no MLB is far from doing it everything right but they are working their way there. The Cardinals are worse than the Marlins now...these couple teams aren't doing the right things but comparing to these guys being at home. Yes, they are more at risk without a doubt.

BUNCH OF FUCKING PUSSIES!!! These players are much safer on campus than at home. Numbers have started to reach a plateau and are starting to slowly come down so why not wait until at the least the first of September to see if they keep coming down??

BECAUSE THEY ARE LIBERAL PUSSIES, ALL OF THEM AND JUST TRYING TO APPEASE THE EXTREME LEFT MEDIA THAT MAKES UP MOST OF TWITTER!!! FUCK THEM

I'm afraid the season is not going to take place.

I'm confused why they went to the trouble of building a schedule to do this.

Is this the presidents or the AD's that voted?

so, the SEC is reportedly trying to recruit other programs to join their conference for this season? Could teams actually leave their conference for a year and join the SEC?

seems like there would be some severe legal hurdles to make that happen.

The presidents. Sounds like the AD's made this plan, the MAC canceled their season and something about that spooked the presidents and they called an emergency meeting yesterday.

My question as well but apparently recently presidents discussed with health advisors about questions on the lasting impact on the heart and lungs from Covid

College football leaders realizing season too risky with COVID-19
But as the scheduled games get closer, the issue is suddenly getting a second look. According to one person with knowledge of the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation, a group of Pac 12 presidents has become significantly concerned about the data they’ve been given as players have undergone necessary cardiac tests.

A Sports Illustrated piece on Sunday anonymously quoted a team doctor who was aware of 10 COVID-related heart issues on college football teams, and a recent paper published in JAMA Cardiology found that 78 of 100 patients they studied had cardiac abnormalities more than two months after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
