If it gets canceled now, or a few weeks after the term starts and thousands of students start attending frat parties, getting covid and causing spikes, what does it matter? This season was never going to happen and the only hope I have now is that something can be moved to spring.

How have people failed? They don’t have the ability to create a bubble in college football and there is the added wrinkle of the liability that comes from putting unpaid players in harms way.

If you’re mad that there isn’t going to be a season, I could understand that in April. But if you’re Fucking stupid enough to think that these universities were going to sign up for this potential liability and you couldn’t see that this was getting cancelled you’re a fucking idiot.

They have failed for not acting soon enough with ANSWERS. Look I really thought we were going to play, they acted like we were without any guidelines.. Now it seems it's going to be canceled but the reason why they haven't said anything was because they have no clue on how to proceed after canceling. They can't even commit to a spring season (that's a joke), let alone how they proceed with eligibility for another season. Do they hand out a universal extra year? Do they force players into a RS year and those who already taken their RS year are SOL?

Again, they failed.. how did none of this come up when you plan for the worse? That's why I don't blame the players for calling a union. Maybe they will have a leader that can actually bring up this shit to those egg heads

The spring makes sense in a lot of ways, and TBH I'd rather have football than no football. The NCAA could grant extra eligibility to seniors that would have participated in fall. Kids who want to declare for the NFL should be allowed to and still play if they wish. A lot of schools, even P5 schools. rely on that revenue and not playing at all could have devastating effects to the sport as a whole.

The idea of playing in the Spring is beyond idiotic. Football isn't hoops, you can't play a Spring season of college football, take off a couple of months and then pick up and play a fall season. Not to mention any player that's even remotely draftable won't play. Either play the fall season or see you next year

The NCAA is the central organization for athletics. It is their buck and they've passed it to conferences, so we're seeing plans all over the place. And when once cancels, it's going to domino.

These issues may still be around in spring, but the general consensus is that even without a vaccine (which is hopefully by early 2021), better treatments will be available, we have more time to isolate virus outbreaks - or - the virus burns through more of the populations, thus limited spread, and it also gives the conferences more time to plan. IMO spring should have always been the plan, wasting time on Fall prevented planning for spring.

I'm no political expert, but Sports have never been this polarizing since the civil rights era in the 60's. And in the last 4 years it's been polarizing again.

Sports was what brought everyone together, now it's been torn apart because people choose what they want to hear and what's easy.. instead of looking at the whole picture... sad
