Ran across this article. Thought it was interesting. New blockbuster 5-team trade idea: Mavericks add MPJ and Holiday, Celtics shed salary

Mavs get MPJ, Jrue Holiday, Andre Drummond <--sign & trade

Celtics get Caleb Martin

76ers get Klay Thompson, PJ Washington

Nuggets get Kelly Oubre Jr, Daniel Gafford

Nets get Max Christie, Naji Marshall

:noidea:

Can sixers do that? They’re hard capped if they take more salary and they’re just already going over the first apron and grimes is gone put them over the second

But I had something similar except your lakers get gafford

Not really sure. Don't follow team cap space. I was just wondering what others thought if that trade happened.

The only team cap space I followe are the Celtics. And as we know they gotta get rid of a lot. What is, about 600 million right now?

This one lets philly get bigger and save a little money.

The rest stays pretty similar.

Looks like a fair trade for everyone involved but how often do mult team trades this large go down with nothing but role players? I know we're in some new territory here with the CBA but this seems like 0.5% chance of a deal structured like this would go down

I’m curious if we didn’t see it last year when they ended up stuffing like 4 separate deals into a 6 team trade

But yeah I think we’ll see it more often

Brooklyn is the lynchpin obviously

I guess for this trade you could add in 2 teams who have access to their full mle and make it work (like the kings and bulls)

But this is the cleanest version

I do wonder why LeBron doesn't play for less his last couple years to improve the chances of another ring

He offered to last summer, Lakers couldn't land any of the approved names (which admittedly was a stupid list) to get it done. No reason to give back money if they're not going to get quality players with it. He took just enough less to keep them under the 2nd apron as a fallback.

Someone is going to trade for Zion relatively cheaply and turn him around. He needs a real veteran leader on the roster and a coach that he respects to get the BS out of his lifestyle. Trim the fat (literally and figuratively) and boost the 3 pt shooting a bit. Is he reachable though?

Do my trade for gafford

Chris Paul for the mini mle

That’s their best shot

Can the Mavs really risk the fan reaction if they trade with the Lakers again? I hope so, as they have seemingly extra players that would be good fits, but at this point the Lakers probably have to overpay for the Mavs to save face, and I don't think they have the pieces to do so.

Chris Paul for the vet min, sure. The mini MLE is likely their only tool to add a rotational player, and I'm not sure a 10 min/g backup 40 year old PG is their biggest need.

I guess he might offer again. He should, don’t you think?

Please please please let Harper get to 3!
You don't think Maxey, McCain, and Grimes is a good enough guard rotation? I think the 76ers need a PF more than a guard and I think Ace will fit nicely.
