We already did. Now that he’s finally declining I did a “where does Steph rank all time” thread. This season is the beginning of the end, I suspect he plays out the contract and retires after 2027 but who knows.

He’s 36 and he’s not LeBron. No one is

Kd might be

Eh he’ll age well but LeBron has always been another level than KD. KD ain’t putting up 33/11/12 when he’s 40 like LeBron just did

The Lakers are 12th in ppg allowed. But, they have not played a game without AD yet. It's about to be a layup line vs us if Jaxson Hayes is our starting C. He is athletic but average at best on defense, AD was clearly our best defender. We are 19th in FG %. and 11th in 3%.

They need to add some defense at the trade deadline, especially a big since Hayes is no starter and Kolok and Jemison are both #3 C's at best or more likely G-Leaguers to get some serious minutes so they can improve. The only guard we have that is much of a defender is Vincent....Doncic, Reaves, Westside Knecht, Milton, Bronny? None of them exactly known for their defense. So a defensive guard would also be welcome.

They have almost zero guard defense

And they have Vincent who is barely functional beyond that

It’s just hilarious that we never heard much about Luka before outside of some conditioning stuff but now all of a sudden all these things are coming out. I hope we get a lakers/Mavs first round and lakers sweep them. Trading the guy is one thing but talking shit about him that nobody never heard before is a whole different thing.

The way Dallas is dogging him out right now, I'm hoping they miss the play in. It's possible too. West is tight. They are currently 9th. Sac, GSW, SA behind them. SA made themselves better. GS who knows. Kings probably stay frisky enough to maybe get in 10th. Dallas has talent but what happens if the Luka trade demoralized the players? What if Kyrie decides this is fucked up and decides he's not re-signing in the offseason so he just half asses the rest of the season? They keep leaking stuff to the media just absolutely trashing Luka, maybe karma will come and get them

Well there never has and never will be a player like Lebron. He’s a true unicorn. Difficult to imagine a player like Lebron in the future too with the game changing. Players sitting out more often too

This is a ridiculous claim

What?

Has literally happened 2 times in the last few days.

Milwaukee tonight, Dallas vs Cleveland after the trade and I thought there was another, but looking back not to the same extent.

What the Thunder and Mavs put on the court is not normal.

You made it sound like it was more than those 2 times which is why I was confused

They got Christian Koloko and Trey Jemison III too but under normal circumstances those dudes wouldn't even be in the rotation.

...and as 2 way players they aren't playoff eligible

I expect the Lakers will make a smaller move, probably with the Nets for Sharpe. Maybe they can tie Keon Johnson into the trade.

I would love to see them make a trade with Portland for at least Thybulle (nearing a return from injury), maybe Timelord, and Camara would be great (but I assume he'll be tough to get).

Guys like Mathurin and Nesmith from the Pacers would be interesting, but again the Pacers likely want more draft capital than the Lakers can give (and LA still needs a center). Pacers should hold both, but there could be a numbers crunch as they try to find roles and cap room for everyone moving forward of they want to stay under the luxury tax.

Koloko needs minutes

Lakers need to open a roster spot to promote him. He's played in 27 of the possible 50 games a 2 way player is allowed at the NBA level per season.

I like Hayes, he's very athletic and always plays hard...but he's too light in the ass and too inexperienced. He's excellent as a help defender, but bigger, stronger, more experienced 5's pretty much bully him.

He makes for a pretty good lob threat for Luka, but otherwise he's just tall, lanky, and foul prone.
