They have almost zero guard defense

And they have Vincent who is barely functional beyond that

I think you'll see Vando get used to defend guards a decent amount. Offensively they'll be fine as long as they have enough spacing on the floor otherwise.

Still hoping for even a minor trade for a 2 that can defend, even if it's Keon Johnson. Thybulle would be a solid option, too bad he makes a tiny bit more than Kleber (although I doubt Portland would've taken Kleber's contract without a 1st anyway).

My cheapish targets would be Javon Carter, Keon Johnson and Day'Ron Sharpe if they're not going to use the first (or move Reaves - maybe this summer). Hell, even the guys the Bulls released would be decent pickups if they open up some roster spots and a bit more room under the 2nd apron (Duarte and Craig).

I don't really blame him. The Mavs kinda screwed Luka on this one.

This young guy loved everything about the team and the city and then was traded without a heads up. Shit, I heard he just bought a $15m property in Dallas only a few weeks ago too

I understand this had to be kept quiet, but at least be respectful.

Yeah, I don't really blame him either.

On one hand, it's professional sports which can be pretty cutthroat...on the other hand...this isn't just some rotational player...this is a superstar who just carried your team to its first finals since Dirk.

Ironically, I saw a quote yesterday that said they wanted to do it quickly and quietly out of respect for Luka, But it's sounding like he found out the same way everyone else did.

Hey, if any of you want to check out a major troll....

Go check out the Luka for AD thread. That tc1 guy has been here before, I am almost sure of it. Joined Dec of 2024? Yeah, right....

Vincent's offense has been coming around. He started out horrible. Shooting like 30% and 20% from 3.

He is up to 40% and 33% now. Trending upward.

Chet was seen dunking with authority last night. I’m hopeful he is back by the end of the month.

Crazy to think this is all happening without him, almost makes you wonder if they'll have a stretch when he comes back where they step back a bit and have to re-adjust their style of play.

Highly unlikely

The Phoenix focus is all about that next contract. If any other team were to guarantee that extension too, I think he would consider it.

I know that but common sense should tell him 2 things.

1) don’t say you want to play anywhere but Miami then do this

2) knowing the Bradley Beal contract situation and NTC, should understand that getting to phoenix this year will be extremely difficult and unlikely

No doubt there will be some slight adjustments, but as long as Chet is 100 percent he can run with these guys and there won’t be a lot of that. I’m excited about seeing them at 100 percent, hope they can get there.

They already have almost that exact contract in Kleber.

Sure but he’s hurt

And you still arguably need a c

But either way turning vandy into a shorter contract needs to be the goal
