They don’t want Jimmy because he is a locker room killer and he doesn’t fit what they need.

Best believe though, if there is an opportunity out there to land a difference making player they will do it.
Yep.

Rob sure better not be done yet.....

He’s the only one they can afford draft equity wise, and it’s a terrible fit

I’m not sure what the lakers or warriors do.

They both need a MOVE (in all caps)

But both seem to be playing on the edges

I just don’t see a way for them to land that big swing they need

Can they land 2-3 more dfs level guys?

You play yourself acting like the Pacers were some type of victims of the Mailce in the Palace.

There were a lot of things wrong that night.

But damn. Ron Artest should have gone to jail and been kicked out of the league for life. That is how bad his response was. He ran up into the stands and attacked a fan because he got a beer thrown on him. AND, the man he attacked wasn’t even the person who threw the beer.

The fan who threw the beer and Artest should have both been charged criminally and banned. Many other fans should have also caught criminal changers. Other players (Wallace, JO, Captain Jack) should have all received lengthy suspensions. JO probably should have been 10 games or less. I think he got too much.

It was a messed up situation.

But Artest got off light.
The fact that JO originally got 25 is a sign that cash hungry Stern had a problem with us in the championship picture.

Always remember, this was the fall after the Shaq/Kobe breakup, and the cash cow Lakers were removed from the title picture overnight.
Not at all, a fan did something stupid and Artests crazy ass ran into the stands.

The fan got a felony and spent 30 days in jail. It was in the Netflix doc

The fact he keeps whining about this is lame as hell.
What I'll whine about is with Jimmy gone, there's not good reason to hate on the Heat anymore. :D

no one is trading all star level wings....its so hard to get on the open market.....

I do think that gives Butler value to the Heat since every single team is basically always hunting for a all star swing guy besides like the Celtics. So hard to get done.

Lakers don't want Jimmy because Redick was hired on a developing-the-young-talent agenda and he is sticking to that strategy. Right now, it is working. With the emergence of Christie (which made DRuss expendable), Hachimura, Reddish, Western Knecht, Reaves, and Koloko, to name a few, trading for Milton and DFS made sense and all of it is now making no room for people like Jimmy Butler and Brando Ingram.
I generally agree with this- but the issue is that LeBron does not have a lot of time left. It does not look like the Lakers have nearly enough to win this year by just developing the young guys.

It makes it a tough choice- stay the course or go and get an old expensive guy to try and win with LeBron before he retires.

1) they hesitated on the extension for multiple reasons. The guy misses 20-30 games per season, wanted a max extension, and only turns into a top player in the playoffs. Jimmy Butler isn’t a top 20 player in the regular season. They were willing to give him an extension but he wanted a max and that made no sense for someone who is never available. Pat made a comment about availability in his end of season press conference which was a direct shot at Herro and Butler. How has Tyler responded to that? By not missing a game this year.

2) the trade crap is bs because it isn’t for a lack of effort. They had the best trade offer for Dame which is clear now but Portland wanted to be spiteful and not trade dame to his preferred team.

3) they’re not dumb asses for not trading him in the offseason because both sides agreed that he would play out the season and revisit in the offseason. Had Jimmy thought it was such a bad idea to play out his contract then he would have requested a trade since June. The Heat loses nothing by keeping him on the roster until the summer because as multiple people stated his contract going off the books will give them flexibility. Jimmy got in his feelings because he heard they were listening to offers for him and this led to him acting like a 5 yr old. I will ask again how does it benefit the heat to accept a shitty trade and take back bad contracts instead of just going their separate ways in the summer and having flexibility
Heat next year:

Butler- 52M player option (prob will not pick up)
Robinson- 20M player option (prob will pick up)

Bam: 37M
Herro- 31M
Rozier- 27M
Highsmith- 6M
Ware- 5M
Love 4M
Jovic- 4M

then there are club options or restricted options on:
Jaquez- 4M
Johnson- 2M
Christopher - 2M
Smith - 2M
Stevens- 2M

If you include Robinson and the guaranteed- its already at $134M ---- the cap is 154.6M

if they could get Robinson to decline, and then move some of the other guys- theyd have cap room. I do not see any reason why Robinson would decline 20M though. They could move or stretch guys like Highsiwth, Ware, Love, etc. if they wanted too.

Yeah but can you land 2-3 more actual contender level rotation level guys like dfs at least?

That might be enough if you pace bron and brow

Well, they are looking for a true point guard and a bigger, more physical back-up Center who plays D and scores between 8-15 points when he plays. So Jimmy doesn't fit on a number of levels.

Thunder could get it done but they just have no reason to

Instead of keeping the same starting lineup and just replacing Jimmy with JJJ, Spo decided to go a new group including this loser Rozier and benched Duncan

Back to back games are killing the NBA. ( Maybe even more so than the silly 82 game regular season )
If you're gonna do b2b's....at least do them with both teams on the 2nd game of a b2b.
Or better yet...maybe just have the home team on the 2nd of a b2b..so travel isn't part of the already dumb equation.
